Hi. Can't find any way to modify Pitch bend messages, nor send them, neither in Grid, nor with modulators. Is it just unavailable?

Open the Event Editor for an audio or MIDI clip. (Double-clicking the clip is the fastest way.)

You can set Pitch, Gain, Pan, and Formant automation at either the project TRACK level or at the individual CLIP level. You can snap to precise semitone jumps for pitch (if you want).

Automation will move with the clip if you drag it around on its track. The point of putting automation in the CLIP itself is mainly so that if you save the Clip to your user library, the automation will be saved with it.

Oh wait, you're talking about sending Pitch Bend with a modulator.... That's easy.

You can use ANY modulator to simply modulate the Pitch parameter of a Bitwig instrument or 3rd party VST synth.

what you can't do yet is send pitch bend (modulated with a modulator) to an external synth. They said it's on their list of things to work on.

Yes some basic Midi FX are missing. I vote for something like Logics scripter. That could at least replace any missing Midi FX...

I see, that what I was asking about. Thanks

Ah ok so actually generating the pitch bend message from a modulator, as opposed to receiving pitch bend message to be used as a modulator. Interestingly, the functionality should be there with the midi modulator, since the message itself can receive a modulation signal while it's set to pitch bend. However it doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe that's not the purpose though. Maybe that's there only to modulate the incoming signal from another modulator.

Just to clarify: at present (valid for studio 3.1.3 as well as studio 3.2. beta 6) the midi pitch bend modulator can be configured, but it does not react to the pitch bend midi signal arriving from a keyboard. While this works for the modulation wheel as expected, the pitch bend midi signal strictly is routed inside, for instance to the bitwig organ device and does a pitch bend there, but it cannot be used to influence some other controllable parameters instead. In a test project, consisting of one instrument track and an organ device connected to it, it was possible to use the keyboard modulation wheel together with the cc midi modulator on the organ device to influence the draw bars of the bitwig device corresponding to the wheels change in turn angle. The modulator itself also reflected the movement of the modulation wheel inside its graphic icon. When the midi modulators configuration is changed to "pitch bend" there is no movement to be seen inside the icon when moving the pitch bend wheel at the keyboard and there is no change within the draw bars visible. The only reaction is the standard pitch bend to the device tone frequency. The midi modulators output does'nt do anything. Conclusion: there exists a pitch bend midi modulator within bitwig studio, but at present it does not work. Would be nice for those with a small amount of controllers at their keyboard when bitwig could make it work.

Is this possible at the moment? I would like to use Bitwigs LFOs to modulate pitch bend of an external synth through MIDI.

You can use Bitwig LFO's to generate continuous Midi CC data (say CC#2) and then a free plugin (like PizMIDI) to convert that to midi pitchbend.
