Hi VANRAYS, and welcome to KVR!
A few thoughts:
A few thoughts:
- Are you familiar with the Smart Operations section of TDR Nova GE? It lets you take the EQ profile of a signal, so in this case you could feed it your reference track, let Nova learn that profile, and then it will apply a similar profile (either statically or dynamically) to your mix. Also, note that there is a Tokyo Dawn Labs forum right here on KVR. However...
- The results from doing this will not always give you what you thought you wanted! There are many reasons for this, including the fact that the human ear has variable sensitivity to frequencies depending on the overall loudness (perceived volume of the track). Look up the Equal Loudness Contour to find out more.
- From reading about Orban's gear in Bob Katz' "Mastering Audio Book", there's a lot more than just dynamic EQ going on - phase rotation, Automatic Gain Control, clipping, pre-emphasis.
- Are you listening with your eyes or ears? Is your mix the very best it can be? If not you'll just be amplifying imperfections by jamming up all the frequencies on the master. Remember that mixing is not just making everything take up all the sonic space, it's about carving out frequencies so everything works together to sound its best. Also, the modern EVERYTHING HAS TO BE SUPER LOUD approach can get really fatiguing after a (little) while.

To avoid confusion I'll move this thread to Tokyo Dawn's forum and leave a shadow topic here in Getting Started. I'll delete the duplicate thread that had no replies.

^^ Try latest update we greatly enhanced the smartOps section. You are using a pretty old version.
By coincidence, we're about to upload a SmartOps video tutorial today or tomorrow, narrated by the great Dan Worrall.
