So, it still appears to me that you have to be a previous WF owner, to get free WF 11.

I was debating whether to get WF 10 Basic for $119, or WF 10 Standard for $259 (which includes DAW Essentials). I had Basic in my shopping cart, and saw "save by adding..." so I added DAW Essentials as an add-on. The total came to $202. I may go for this for the FX, I'm not experienced enough to know a GREAT compressor, from a meh compressor. May as well get my feet wet with something that should integrate well with Tracktion. In the past 2 weeks alone, I got over $500 in free software- Analog Lab 4, and Sonivox Orchestral Companion (for about $32 US). Anyway, a heads up for anyone considering buying WF 10 now. If you want to save, bundle the extras to the Basic edition, and compare it to the retail price. I have tons of plugins from Kontact, etc, and my plugin menu is a mess. I won't be scoring the next Star Wars movie, and this will really streamline things for me.

Thanks again for the suggestion.
You're getting confused between Waveform 11 Free and getting the free upgrade to Waveform 11 Pro. Yes, there are going to be 2 versions of Waveform 11 - Free & Pro.

The former is going to be free for everyone irrespective of whatever they own. The latter is only available for users who own a paid for version of Waveform.

The prime cause of unstability in Traction and Waveform has been iffy plug-ins. A difficulty in fixing or debugging some of the problems comes from the DAW using Juce code, so if there was a Juce fault (I realise it's heresy to suggest such a thing), a fix would have to wait until the relevant Juce code had been changed. The addition of sand boxing for plug-ins should improve the stability greatly.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

I count on that so too. Wondering, will sand box be in opened tracktion_engine.

This is correct. You're misinterpreting the email you got back from support. Sounds like they're offering you a good deal there, buy W10 now, and you'll get W11Pro when it comes out.
"my gosh it's a friggin hardware"

I suspect it may be that the latter is the usual grace period offer, and thus only available for users who have bought Waveform recently.

Agreed! I actually intended that the upgrade option is available to paid users of Waveform, and you're right, the free upgrade would be applicable only if you purchased within the grace period.

From Gearslutz, only a few minutes old:

Has it been made Faderport friendly ???

Using the overview bar to move sections instead of select multiple clips > cut start, cut end > lasso new selection > move is a useful feature I'll be using several times in every project and should be less error prone than my current method, so that's a big plus. Improved stability and workflow sounds good, but it's impossible to say how much of a difference it will make for me. Easy use of multiple screens including external touchscreens sounds nice, but unless I can use an iPad on a W10 PC I would have to get hold of a new touchscreen. New midi tools look interesting, although personally I've always been more into "playing" than "constructing" parts, and computer aided composition tends to turn me off a bit. All in all it looks like a solid update, and I'm in (but not blown away ... yet).

I hope they can do a new manual with all the new features since the last manual rewrite. The videos are nice but I like to have everything in a centralized location.

In W10 they added a feature to allow moving of blocks of the song around but that never made it into the manual and I can't find the video for it easily.

that is great! have anyone figured out how to do it yet?

So you can create a submix, then the clips on the submix appear grouped and moving the clips on the submix moves the contained clips across the tracks together.
