Big fan here, the dark blue GUI I find easy on the eye, and it's a breeze to navigate IMO. The LFO sequencer is genius.
Would be great to see MPE compatability....

Why does it need MPE compatibility? It's got MIDI learn, you can assign your fancy controllers to any parameters you like.

So, here I'm thinking, arcsyn release new synth," ROOLZ"

100 High Quality Soundsets: Omnisphere 2, Dune 3, Tone 2 Synths, Pigments, Uhe Synths, Halion, Spire, and others.

Ironically, this video was how I found out about ArcSyn's existence:
I think it failed initially because of the original 'silver' GUI was just atrocious:

Current one is fine, but still it's a bit of a mess - it's difficult to tell apart the modules, it could be slightly brighter or more colorful.

There are people who need it. The question is more why does BONES don't need it though he has an expressive controller? But he explained that already several times, nothing wrong with it.BONES wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2020 3:08 am Why does it need MPE compatibility? But why does he insist that nobody should need it???
(Did you ever try to assign cc74 or the xy-pad of your Seaboard via Midi learn? Good luck...; - )
P.S: I want Midi 2.0 on every synth and DAW now! - seems I have to wait a bit for that...

Well, for a start, I've been unable to get Arcsyn to respond to Poly AT from my seaboard via the Pressure source in the Mod matrix. Also, pitch slides are not working as they might, and there are no CC options in the matrix either. So no, AFAICS it's not currently possible to assign these parameters.BONES wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2020 3:08 am Why does it need MPE compatibility? Anyway, I'm not making demands here, I just expressed a desire. Hope that's OK with you.

Agreed. I’m always amused by the people who stir up non-existent sh!t for the sake of drama... but... BONES!foosnark wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2020 6:48 pm I think I've seen more people say that ArcSyn is underrated than I have seen praise for some other "popular" synths
It's a good one. The oscillators are interesting on their own, the filters and effects are unique and the LFOs can get crazy.
I haven't really seen many people arguing to the contrary, other than some who don't like the GUI. Personally, I think the GUI is not very remarkable in either a bad or good way, but it gets the job done.

Yeah, NOVAkILL is really the best interface. That which all should be judged by!BONES wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2020 2:32 am Honestly, it does. It's got a great sound, a one-page GUI and is capable of pretty much anything a lot of more fancied synths are known for. Along with Thorn, it has become my go-to synth for pretty much everything. With a better GUI, I think it would be a lot more popular.

Have you ever noticed the "GRRRRRRR!" in his profile? It's just doing what it says on the tin.Tj Shredder wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2020 7:28 amThere are people who need it. Because it's an inelegant kludge and, honestly, I'd prefer it just went away. Hopefully with MIDI2 it will. And I've never said nobody needs it, simply that nobody needs it on every instrument they own. I can think of dozens of improvements I'd like to see implemented ahead of MPE. e.g. last night I wanted to modulate the attack of a string patch with velocity but you can't. You can modulate every f**king effect parameter but only a handful of synth parameters, which seems very strange to me.Tj Shredder wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2020 7:28 am The question is more why does BONES don't need it though he has an expressive controller? Didn't get too many complaints about DUNE, I think I can manage something for a commercial release.zerocrossing wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2020 6:19 pmYeah, NOVAkILL is really the best interface. That which all should be judged by!
Yes, everyone should ask questions. But nobody does, it's much less effort to jump to conclusions. Well done you!

Yet again ArcSyn showed it's superiority yesterday. I was moving a song across from Orion and trying to replace the Wasp bassline with something else. I tried Pigments, Phase Plant, Hive, Thorn and DUNE but it was ArcSyn that delivered the best result. It's not quite as good as the original, it's missing that last little bit of bite/edge, but it's close enough that it works equally well in the mix.

OK, I'm not picky about GUIs unless the text is super tiny and unreadable... but that is fugly. I'm glad there were new skins by the time I bought it.
