I think we should create MIDI clips of Funky Drummer and the Amen break and broadcast them into space.

Hey bobaudio, here's a version for you:
http://www.markleford.com/music/tmp/funky-drummer.mid
Play with the quantization to taste. Mostly GM drum mapping with exceptions: hi-hat accents are played with both F# and G# notes (i.e. closed+foot) and ghost-hits on the snare are on C#, which is a crossover/rim on some Soundfonts. You'll also have to tweak velocities to your soundset, but it should be fairly obvious where the accents are.

Because he's incredibly keen on being the thousandst one to use it
Seriously, i have seen midi sample CDs dedicated to breaks.

lots...
If you have midi data, then you can assign any drum sounds you want. Midi is also very easy to manipulate and small in size comparatively.

Weird, i always just programmed a beat in Fruityloops and reason and changed the samples in the channels if i wanted different drum sounds.freeztar wrote:lots...
