I created a simple song structure and dragged it to an Ableton track.
I say simple - a beat / a short break / a beat / a short break - for easy experimentation
Dragging it on to Ableton generated midi data D-1/D-1/D-1/D0/ F#-1/F#-1/F#-1/G#0
All works well but I was getting too much cymbal activity with the F#-1s - so I went to the mixer to lower the volume - BUT the cymbals still sound. Also I noted the snare was sounding as well?
Ah! solved! - it's the send returns - they are up and the sound is coming through there.
I left this note in - in case it's helpful for other mdrummer newbies!
The mixer is excellent for shaping the overall sound/feel of your selected drumkit

Thanks for the post. I think you just helped me solve an odd problem:
I recently imported a drum kit into MDrummer. It played almost just
like the original within MDrummer. But the cymbals were sometimes phasey,
and the rest of the sounds were "oh-so-close", yet a bit off.
Now I remember that the imported samples already had compression and reverb
on them. And then I had the effects from within MDrummer on top of that.
No wonder it sounded a bit different!
