MDrummer - Song Mode midi to Ableton oddity?

Create a simple song structure via Song mode / Song editor.
Drag the midi (not midi commands) to an Ableton clip - play it and it doesn't 'sound' the same as playing it when in Song mode - the rhythm is sort of doubled up?

If I play the same clip into another drum kit (not MDrummer - one of Ableton's drum kits for example) the rhythm is correct?

Is there some secret setting I need to set somewhere? I've got Ableton on channel 10

THat's because you are probably sending both the notes and using the rhythm engine at the same time . So after you drag & drop the notes, just disable the song. Btw. I'd suggest using MIDI command method, it's much better:
