Would anyone be up for doing a comparison for me?

I'm considering a new PC build and have created a 3 track .cpr file using Repro 5. Would anyone else be able to try it on their machine (with similar settings if possible) and tell me where the meter in Cubase sits when playing it?

I have an i73930k hex core oclocked to 4.2
I'm using Cubase 10 with and RME 9632 with latency set at 256.
Windows 7 x64.
Asioguard is on normal with 64 bit float.
All the tracks should be NOT record enabled.

I'm aware that this can't be a like for like due to different soundcards, OS etc but still worth doing I think. I'd be very interested in hearing from mac users too.

I've attached the .cpr file and here's a link to my results

Thanks so much

Would you be ok with a video? I upgraded last year and don't think a picture can tell the complete story. I can DM you the video link once it's uploaded

Great. That would be awesome!

Win 10 Pro,
i7 4790K (OC to 4.35 GHz),
16 GBs RAM,
AMD R9 270 GPU,
SSD for OS and plugins,
RME AIO buffer set to 256,
Cubase 10.5.12.

Caveat: I used the demo version since I don't own Repro. Yet!

Sound Card is NI Komplete Audio 6.

I did it two ways... as you wanted.... (buffer size 256 and Asioguard normal and 64 bit float (can you really tell the difference between this and 32bit ?)

and how I normally run it.. buffer size 64 and asioguard normal and 32 bit float.

Win 10 Pro
i9 9900K
16Gb RAM
RTX 2080 ti
Focusrite Scarlett 256 buffer
Cubase 10.5.12

Your project contained VST2 versions but I only have VST3 versions installed so I don't know what patches you used. So I selected 8 voice patches with multicore and HQ selected.

I included the task manager in the screenshot so you can see the core utilization.
Be aware that Windows 10 limits realtime threads to 14 logical cores per process. Cubase 10 automatically manages this, you can see in my screenshot all 16 threads are being used, but I don't know how this scales if you have significantly more cores like an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X with 16/32. This will be something you need to find out - and do come back here to tell us won't you :D

I'll do the video for you tomorrow :tu:

Thanks so much for doing this!

The presets are:

Track 1 HS low riser - poly (from "08 - pads synths") with Mcore and HQ enabled
Track 2 AZ riser (from "01 Basses) with Mcore and HQ Enabled
Track 3 AZ Leo 10 (from "08 - pads synths") - with mcore and HQ enabled

Would you be able to pop that middle track out of record enable so that I can get a bit more of a like for like?

Thanks again.
