Plugins for Receptorizing Thread

Hi All

Per request of the Musers, I am starting this thread of what Plugins would you LIKE to see working on Receptor. If you went to the unsupported plugins compatability thread, you will see several plugins had trouble or did not work at all when using the unsupported plugin procedure.

heres a few on my list so far:

1. Camel Audios Cameleon ! This was the first plugin I tried to install, and it failed miserably
This would be Number ONE is my book!

2.ConcreteFX plugins: Kubik, Unision, micron, Vocal, Etheriel.

3. White Noise Audio: DoppelMangler and the new Zero Vector.

4. EnergyXT: this would enable sequencing and also a flexable modular approach to plugins, and would enable live sequences to be realized.

5. Synth1 ( freeware) OK.. I love this synth, but it does not work on receptor..so I am told..but to be honest, I have not tried it via the unsupported plugin procedure. I was told it did not work during the beta stage of receptor.

Thats it for now..maybe more later...anybody else?

My vote is for SampleTank and Synth1. These plugs provide my core essentials - I use them on practically every song.

Both are very popular, so supporting these plugs should greatly speed acceptance of your innovative product.

I just demo'd a Receptor the other day and thought it was great. My Receptrification wishlist:

iZotope Ozone, Trash, Spectron - http://www.izotope.com/
Trash would be great for guitarists

SimulAnalog Guitar Suite - http://www.simulanalog.org/guitarsuite.htm
Stompboxes, also good for guitarists. It's free, would be cool if someone tried it and reported back.

BBE Sonic Maximizer - http://www.bbesound.com/products/maxim/newplugin.asp
I know, I have Ozone... but I have BBE too so might as well use it

EnergyXT - http://www.xt-hq.com/
I second this, and while we're at it...

Art Teknika Console - http://www.console.jp/eng/
which I seem to use more than energyXT, and it would let you use DXi's, I believe

Image Line FL Studio, Sytrus, Wasp - http://www.flstudio.com/
MUSE mentioned in another thread they plan to support Fl Studio, which will add sequencing, FL generators, and don't forget Buzz machines.

SampleTank Free - http://www.sampletank.com/
Would be nice, I don't own the full one but I'm sure lots of folks do

Reaktor - http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?reaktor_us
It's been mentioned. I don't own it, but probably will eventually and it would be nice if it worked. At least Reaktor Session.

Garritan Personal Orchestra - http://www.garritan.com/GPO.html
Suspicious this would work, but I have it

maz Sound Tools VSampler - http://www.maz-sound.de
Nice to use

fxpansion BFD - http://www.fxpansion.com/product-bfd-main.php
It's big, and it's drums... you do the math.

Regards,
Mike

I just read an Review of Receptor while browsing through music magazines at Barnes and Noble. In the article it stated that Sampletank worked as an unsupported plugin. Can anyone verify this?

I am kind of surprised at the lack of information here on KVR as to what works in "unsupported mode".

EDIT: Thanks to Tim Conrady and others who have already volunteered a great deal of information as to what works in unsupported mode!! It is sincerely appreciated.

KVR is famous for quick spread of information and Muse owns KVR, yet I'm finding out new information not available here from reading a published magazine article. :x Perhaps the key is that it is "unsupported", but knowledge drives sales ultimately, right?

Microsoft, for example, publishes registry hacks while specifically stating that they are not supported. It seems to me that it would be in the best interest of MUSE to look at the top rated plugs on KVR, try to install them, and report on the results - all with the legal disclaimer of course that it's "unsupported" (this is a self serving suggestion, since I know Synth 1 is way up there!)

In my case, if I knew for sure that I could load Sampletank 2 and Synth 1, AND the Receptor software itself was updated to accept multiple outs via ADAT, I would buy it right away. Heck, I even know where my nearest stocking dealer is...

Anyway, thanks for enduring the rant...feeling better now...

Do you remember what article it was?

I doubt that SampleTank would work in unsupported mode. You might want to email IK Multimedia and tell them that you would like to see SampleTank on Receptor.

Really I wish the following plugins will be supported:

VirSyn Cube
VirSyn Tera
All Spin Audio plugins, if no, at least the best reverb plugin ever made RoomVerbM2
Steinberg The Grand
CloneEnsemble
And of course one of the fines plugins suite available the KORG Legacy

And the remaining Steinberg plugins which do not need a dongle.

I vote for Sampletank!!!

There's a growing list of requests for Korg Legacy support on another thread. I'd settle for just the Polysix. It's laughably simple but a unique and authentic sound.

Also EMS Synthi AVS softsynth. Amazing demo. Expensive, but worth it if it was Receptor compatible.

ARP 2600v is the other real-sounding analog emulation. Power hungry so would be perfect in Receptor via Uniwire.

I would buy a Receptor today if it could load Sampletank 2 (with 2.1 coming out soon), the new Kontact and East West QL Gold Orchestra.

Post

my wish list:

arp 2600v
mini moog v
moog v
rhino
tera
cube
cameleon 5000
reaktor synths
overthrow KRAPITALISM ! you have nothing to lose but your claims.

We are working on Kontakt 2 and East West QL Gold Orchestra.

We would love to support IK Multimedia plug-ins, but we do not have a deal with them. Everybody who wants Sample Tank, Sonik Synth, Amplitube, etc. please email to IK Multimedia and tell them that they should support Receptor.

BTW, I have Sonik Synth 2 running on my Receptor (it's awesome), and Dave K. has a Receptor with Sonik Synth 2... I can't wait to have a deal.

My hopefuls, in to particular order:

- Arturia Minimoog V, Moog Modular V, ARP 2600 V
- Reaktor
- Pluggo (anything created with Max/MSP)
- Korg Legacy Collection
- Glad to see Kontakt 2 is already on the list! :)

Thanks! Have my fingers crossed!

another vote for Arturia 2600V

I was all set to buy a receptor, but decided to put it off until I can get a response about the possibility of getting the Virsyn products to work. I have emailed here and I have emailed Muse, but I cannot get a response.

I'm sorry that it takes so long, but the reality is that we don't have an answer yet.

Some important factors in supporting a plug-in are being able to have a deal with the developer, technical issues (does the plug-in run without major problems?), and how desirable it is. I don't think we will have a problem with the developer. We did not receive a lot of requests for it, so it is not at the top of our list, but we are considering it. The remaining question is how well does it run, and we don't know that yet.

In a week or two we will know how well it runs. "Official" support will not happen immediately because we have other plug-ins that were requested more, for instance Camelion. But, if it runs fine we may be able to help you install it as an unsupported plug-in, before releasing it as a supported plug-in.

Again, I apologize for not being able to answer you right away. In a week or two I will report on how well it runs.
