This could come in handy when you are editing plugins with more then 8 macro pages.
As it is now the left/right arrows move 1 device page to the left/right at a time and when you are at last page on the left/right it will switch to the next group of 8 pages.
I find the behaviour counterintuitive since I can simply select the page I need by pressing the track state buttons (2nd row of buttons under screen).
So my request is to move 8 pages at a time instead of 1. This would speed things up a notch.
Hi stamp,

I want to keep this identicial to the behaviour in the track mode. IMHO if you need to go to the 2nd page the workflow is already broken. If you have so much parameters it is better to create a page with the selected parameters you really use.
To be honest I'm also a little unclear as to why the right/left arrows move over one track at a time since we always have the buttons to directly push the track that we want to select. I don't see why the arrows don't just move to the next 8 of anything that is directly selectable by the buttons. ?

I have a couple other questions about the device controls if you don' tmind:
-I don't see how to get into a Devices' Post-FX chain for a plugin. I often save instruments with an effect or two in it's fx chain but have never been able to get in there with Push directly. I would expect it to show up when we hit Chains while the instrument is selected, like it does for most devices with chains, however the screen is blank when Chains is selected while on an instrument plugin.
-Any way to set defaults for the sub mixer view that opens? Or would it possible for it to remember the page that it was on? For example with an instrument layer, every time I go into the layer mixer, it opens to the single layer settings (vol, pan, sends), whereas I keep wanting it to be on levels for all layers.

Thanks again for this great tool!

You can only enter a chain if there is already a plugin in it (forgot why this is the case but there was a reason for that :-))

Is that what you mean or is there a specific chain of a device which is not showing up at all?

Yes, good point. I just implemented that it will be remembered.

I have a problem with octave buttons in Maschine Mk3 drum mode. Most of the time they don’t work and for some reason sometimes they do (not sure why and when though). Any ideas?

Yeah I mean any VST plugin when there is any device in it's effect chain. Specifically talking about VSTs, where on screen it has that little arrow that opens it's fx chain. I can't figure out how to get in to that chain. Well I think I know how it should work which is jsut to press teh chain button, like it works for bitwig devices and container devices. But for VSTs it doesn't seem to recognize it's chain. Am I wrong?

Ah, interesting, never noticed the little arrow :-)
Seems to be a bug in Bitwig, I just reported it.

Next time it happens try to remember what you did before. Also check then if the drum device is selected in Bitwig and maybe if switching to another track and back fixes it.

Mikro Mk3 octave shift does not seem stable. It worked at some point, then I closed the project and opened it again and it didn’t work anymore. (Tried on another computer: same issue). Another one is that the restart-loop button only plays the clip and not record it (clip is armed for recording).

Apart from that your script would make the Maschine Mikro the perfect machine for me. Thanks for all the hard work (and patience with my postings)!

Welcome MOSS. So maybe such a compromise would be possible. Create in the settings new option to turn on and off the change banks by 8. Then everyone would be happy. I like turn of monitor and creating patches from scratch in vst synths with more than 1000 of parameters and this option will be very handy. Another feature request is changing midi and audio routing from push, if this be possible then we can do almost entire track with push without stare at monitor. Cheers and thank you for your work on this !!!.

And maybe consider support for kore 2 controller. It's cheap and hi-res knobs and you had it if i remember correctly.

You can use the Generic Flexi for the KORE 2. Configure for Modes.

Yes, but I was thinking more about the use of Display and feedback of parameters like on the push with hi-res manipulation not only 127 steps maybe only for mixing and devices in one track and change track with jog wheel but maybe its too much work but i like dreaming ;).

AFAIK you cannot propgram the content of the display. E.g. parameter names are not possible.

DrivenByMoss 8.90 is online!

Get it from http://mossgrabers.de
  • Requires Bitwig 3.1+.
  • All devices
    • Same known issues as with 8.80 still apply
  • Generic Flexi
    • New: Improved handling of Program Change as source. For trigger commands also a *button up* is executed; for continuous commands the value of the PC is sent (and not always replaced with 127). This allows e.g. to map different PC buttons to an Instrument selector device.
  • Launchpad
    • New: Inverted back the clip/scene scroll direction (was also not conform with the LED lighting)
  • Push 1/2
    • New: Last selected Layer mix mode is remembered
    • New: Inverted back the clip/scene scroll direction

Maybe it is good idea to change behavior of arrows in device menu. left/ right to change containers, shift + left/right to change deeper layers like fx and note fx etc and up/down to move deeper and going back and to exit to highest level long press of up arrow. Left/right move by 8 pages and hold left + push right to move by one increment / hold right + push left to another direction or the last idea inversely to move by page with left\right and to move by 8 pages with holding button and pushing.
