I think PA has found a way to discourage secondhand transfers. Just sell them new so cheap that no one will pay more than $5 for them on the secondhand market.

Indeed, but Waves has been doing it for quite some time. PA seems to have joined the party.

You don't need to download the installation files to get the serial number (the 3.1 GB download is actually all of IK Multimedia's plugins). You need to download the instructions (3 KB file) from FileSilo which will give you the link to get the serial number (the linked paged will ask you a question about a word taken from the magazine -- just like you need to answer for Filesilo and a few marketing list questions -- which you can answer no if you want). You'll need to verify your email and you will be sent the serial number after validating it.

According to the linked page, the offer is good until March 25, 2020.
