Phil's Cascade is so much fun

Post

Just bought Phil's Cascade from the sale, curious to try it. I feel like I'm too much of a savage (thus far) to properly appreciate the studio console/equipment emulation stuff.

Phil’s cascade isn’t that tho. It was hardware built purposely for making a plugin from it

Could you please elaborate?

How much discount do they tend to give when there is a sale?

I got it from PluginBoutique for £75.78 GBP during their Black Friday sales (it's £131.00 now).
Around 45% off :)

Oh, that's a good price. So 8/9 months time to decide between thermal and rift. I like thermal for being so straight forward and kept simple. Will see. :)

Arturia Tape Mello has some nice warm flavors... as does Lindell 6X-500 for warm electric fattening. Baby Audio's IHNY-2 has some nice compression and excitement colors that work well on many things, and not just drums. Klangheim MJUC is great for lively flavoring on drums and vocals. Tokyo Dawn Labs TDR Kotelnikov has some underrated smooth compressor ability with barely noticeable coloration. It just sounds nice, same goes for Waves Abby Road TG Mastering plug in. Lots of cool professional character there. For air and clarity Soft Tube Drawmer S73 is classic sounding.

Cytomic the Glue on mix bus, Mastering preset: Radio Smash (or smack or something like that). Everything sounds like a record with that.

"Soundtoys - Devil-Loc Deluxe" is my great favorite.

It is great on its own, but the "Radiator -> Devil-Loc Deluxe" combination magic happens.
