yes if possible, or in editor, it would also solve the issue....

Thank you Markus! It's much appreciated. I bought Icarus recently and I'm having lots of fun with it. The sound mangling features are immense.

Yes please! This would indeed be awesome!

Once more, thank you for making Icarus 2 so amazing! You rock!!!

Ideally, it would be best to have such an option in the editor, to allow people quick switching from one method to another. Although, this would require a new button on the GUI, so I understand why the setup page would be more convenient.

electra is great, but icarus2 is tone2's shining moment... go for it.

Icarus2 is the newer one. It offers a gigantic set of features and very deep editing possibilities but may be overwhelming for many users. It's a synth for experts.

Electra2.7 is more mainstream and very easy to use. It's a multi-timbral workstation.

I have saved some sounds to a custom bank, so if i am in he custom bank and i click the > next arrow, it ignores the fact I am in this custom bank and takes mt to the 1st sound in the 1 Key Hold bank.

can you fix this?

I can confirm that, as it happens to me as well.

Markus: ive thought about approaching you about this for a while - my guess is that you're done with any new projects; but maybe this might be something different enough, that it'll keep your brilliant self in the audio dev game (i personally really like your software; and have licenses for almost all things tone2):

What if you went in the direction of building a wavetable tool 'suite', that functioned as a full wt builder/editor/experimentation platform - overall shooting for something that has the equivalent power of a Soundforge/Wavelab?

I already thought about crating a standablone-version of the wavetabel-editor of Icarus. However there seems to be not a big demand for this

A wavetable editor wouldn’t set the world on fire, in other words, it wouldn’t be a best selling plugin in your repertoire, but I bet it would be very popular nontheless.

Should you make it as easy to use as possible, and support as many formats as legally possible, then you would have a plugin that people would turn to for a long, long time. Just think about it. Wavetable synthesis has been with us since the 1980s, and in 2020 it’s the most popular and in demand synthesis engine. And obviously, to make it all exciting we need to have a way to make new wavetables somehow. We’ve never had a properly designed, all-encompassing, standalone wavetable editor. Each one that I’ve come across has limitations of various kinds.

The good thing in your situation, Markus, is that you have the majority of the work done. You have a very deep editor in Icarus. You have a great sounding resynthesis engine. You could simply extract it from Icarus and make it available as-is as a standalone editor. Don’t over price it, keep the price attractive , and I’m confident it would sell like hotcakes. Having said that, personally I’d love to see some UX improvements. There are a few issues that need looking at. But I guess, it’s a topic for another post/occasion.

Just think about it: for the first edition of your new standalone editor, you make the Icarus editor available as-is (maybe with minor UX tweaks). Then, update it over time as you see fit. I bet just this new plugin would bring you new customers that would be exposed to your other products.

+1. But I would rethink the GUI. Put a good GUI on it, with a good workflow, and you will have a very popular software in your port-folio. And create a clear and well structured menu.

I wouldn't keep the current GUI as in Icarus. Personally I don't like it (but I LOVE the wavetable editor features).
