WasteLand wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 7:33 pm has the PA website gone bonkers, it takes $50 voucher and calculates it as 50%.
I added $2800 in plugins and it calculated it to zero... go figure. In a few days we will get the notification saying "your purchase was canceled". What a clusterfuck.
yes, this even worse..... i will await the response... i managed to buy 1 plugin for $0... i wanted to try it, but paypal goes automatically, so in the end you don't know if it will be $0. but i have a chaotic mind, and perhaps my unconsciousness took over... there is always a last page before you buy, didn't appear. license is there. no paypal.. let it be canceled. i don't care. i know my stuff for website, and programming, long time ago. it can be one line of code. but this seems, yes a clusterfuck.

and now all KVR goes to PA...

i know from experience, but i was a debugger from hell... but with a program of 10.000+ lines.. with libraries. depencies. a human error can always occur. but this, because of $2800 plugins, with which kind of voucher? the $75, is there a $100, o yes there is $249 voucher... no subscription i have.

It took them ~5 months to change the wording on their FAQ. And to be fair, creating your own cart/checkout system is one of the hardest things a web programmer has to do. So that dude railing about why PA can't "just make their own forum" instead of using Facebook, this is why.

PA has a particularly difficult problem with the way coupons can and can't stack with each other, minimum amounts and when it triggers (before or after a particular coupon is applied), coupon application order and to what item in the cart, what plugins are eligible for dynamic discounts or not, generating and checking so many unique codes, attaching coupon/discount rules to every single product and combination of products. Personally the challenge of that type of development is very exciting to me but it's also prone to bugs. Especially when the patch was during an emergency promotion. But I'm surprised they simply didn't revert back to the old code to refactor it in a proper way now that the sale is over.

Wow Pheonixverb for a tenner is so hard to resist. Can anyone who has experience with it convince me its not a good one to have in the arsenal?

I just got it for $10, and for someone who doesn't pick up new reverbs very easily, I found it very quick to give me a good, subtle results. (I watched this tutorial to check out the verb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbey31VQqaQ , via comfortablynick on an older thread)

Much appreciated on the recommendation, that video had the opposite effect on me, really made me decide I dont need this reverb even if its only $10. I say this as I do have enough reverbs. Ok onto the next bargain hunt then..

i'm guessing phoenixverb doesn't have anything nimbus doesn't have?

Post

Nimbus has everything Phoenix does and more.

Post

Nimbus appears to be an advanced Pheonixverb and R4 a superior more advanced R2

Sorry, have no idea. Unless you really want it, I guess you are fine with any channel strip you may already have. But if not, this deal seems too good to pass on.

I already have similar plugins from Waves, which I have not even put to use, so even though the PA bx plugins are more revered than Waves and the deal is tempting, I am fine without it.

I will not criticize its quality, but I have the McDsp one, the Waves one, the SSL native one, Acustica Sand3 and the Sonimus one. I have bought the PA twice and I have sold it twice. I still have the other ones. Not to say that the PA sounds bad, it doesn't, but for me personally it doesn't compare.
