Forget it. He doesn't do sales. In fact, he's an engineer. This is just a side thing he does utilizing his engineering skills. He doesn't even advertise. All his business is pretty much word of mouth.Mushy Mushy wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2020 3:50 pmThanks. Listen to my "Cool Cat In The Wind" CD. It's all his stuff. His trombones, trumpets, clarinets, flutes and saxes are the best out there. Don't get me wrong. There are some things I'm not thrilled with but you live with them because of the sound.
1. The libraries with articulations have so many of them that they are double note articulations. So like C-1 and E-1 will combine for a particular articulation.
2. The trombones and trumpets do not have keyswitching. So, if you want to do from say sus ff to bend, you need to pull up another patch. Depending on how complex your arrangements get, you can easily use 7 or 8 patches for one part. This can make tracks add up quickly.
In spite of these annoyances, I wouldn't use any other library if I want realistic sounding brass and woodwinds for a big band sound. Not orchestral. Just to make that clear.

I'm kind of ok with no sales, at least then I know there isnt a good/bad time to buy.

Listening to your epos The Cool Cat In The Wind on headphones. I wonder, whether you did the instrumental parts (like the sax, etc) on the computer or played them live. Some kind of strange mixture of midi arrangements and weird vocal stuff I guess. But the songs work, Nicely done.

wagtunes (and anyone else),
Sorry if this rant does not directly relate to your nice original songs, though what more appropriate spot to vent (and at least your mega thread is getting a bounce)? Modo Bass went on sale for $100, so I decided to go for it, or so I thought. I was ready to buy it from IK directly; had I done that, it would have saved me a lot of grief. I remembered I had a $50 gift card from Guitar Center, and eventually GC's price matched IK's. On guitarcenter dot com, I used their search function by typing in IK Modo Bass, and two things came up. I could have sworn both said MODO Bass (nothing about Crossover, or so I thought), and both cost $100 (never shop on the internet while tired!). So I clicked on the first one (should have been the closest to my search inquiry, yes?). So the Cart said MODO Bass Crossgrade, which I didn't even know what the Crossgrade was. You click on GC's links that take you to IK's website, and MODO Bass and MODO Bass Crossgrade have identical information, except one of them says Crossgrade. Since both products were the same price then, I thought they must be identical. I foolishly pulled the trigger on the Crossgrade one, I had already selected, thinking I was beyond the point of no return. Why would anyone knowingly pick the Crossgrade, when you could buy the non-Crossgrade for the same price? IK's authorization thing refused to authorize it because I had never spent $100 on IK stuff before. I couldn't find anything on IK's website explaining what the Crossgrade version actually was, or what it crossgrades from. Long story short, GC refused to exchange the product, even though the price was the same, and GC had no clue how the Crossgrade version was different. After multiple emails to IK, they ignored my request to swap license numbers, and sent a link to their Frequently Asked Questions (which I had explored to no avail earlier); the Crossgrade explanation is buried in the FAQ, but would not likely find it on your own. So I gotta spend another $100 on an IK product to get my MODO Bass to work! I'd rather spend $200 to have 2 softwares work than $100 to have nothing work. I think the IK Brian May thing sounds pretty good, but I probably wouldn't use it that much. For months I've looked forward to trying the IK Joe Satriani thing, but who knows when that will be released. Any comments from someone who has more IK experience than me? Have any fearless predictions when the IK Satriani thing will be released? I thought it was supposed to happen last month, but hasn't yet.

Mushy Mushy,
Because I'm an internet buddy with wagtunes, he has MODO Bass (he partially inspired me to buy it), and IK Brian May. I figure wagtunes wouldn't mind my rant. I'm not familiar with an IK forum.

Mushy Mushy,
At least I found an IK forum, where an IK dude said they anticipate releasing IK Joe Satriani this month. See, my rant was good for something. :0

LMAO. I didn't know he was in jail.
Aaron, I'm sorry about your experience with IK. I bought MODO Bass when it first came out on sale. I don't remember if I was entitled to any additional discounts having owned Amplitude. All I know is I was content with the price I paid. I hope you manage to work things out with them.
