Enjoyed "Snap your Cap". Wasn't sure if it was gonna be a gangsta rap track with the title
Great production as usual Wags

"The cool cat in the wind" is very good indeed, thoroughly enjoyed it. Sounds complicated (in a very good way) in parts. love the breakdowns and the structure of it all.Fantastic sounding instruments, awesome stuff!

Thanks. Cool Cat was in 9/8, 5/4 and 4/4. It was kind of a progressive jazz piece. Very different than most things I do.jethrobull wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:44 pm "The cool cat in the wind" is very good indeed, thoroughly enjoyed it. Aaron, I'm sorry about your experience with IK. I bought MODO Bass when it first came out on sale. I don't remember if I was entitled to any additional discounts having owned Amplitude. All I know is I was content with the price I paid. I hope you manage to work things out with them.

wagtunes,
If that's the worst thing that happens to me this month, I can't complain. It's really just a First World problem. I would imagine it will work out eventually. Especially after Joe Satriani gets released!

23rd track from my upcoming double CD "2020"
Boss Over Me
Everyday it's do this don't do that boy
Standing over me like you're in charge
Kinda feel you treat me like a play toy
How the hell did your head get so large
Well I got news for you this ends right now girl
Ain't gonna take none of this no more
Gonna fight you with all that I've got yeah
Just you wait and see what lies in store
Nothing's gonna keep me down
Turn your smile into a frown
Turn the tables right on you
That is what I'm gonna do
Oh baby just you wait and see
You ain't no boss over me
At the start things were pretty cool gal
But slowly you began to push me round
Now it's constantly a chore to see you
Peace of mind is nowhere to be found
Repeat Chorus
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus
Outro

Nice song. That sax sounds really nice. Is that a Warp IV sax?
Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

24th track from my upcoming double CD "2020"
Breakdown On The Highway
Fortune's turning
Can't stop learning
My life's burning
Breakdown on the highway
Coffee perking
Evil lurking
Duty shirking
Breakdown on the highway
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
And everything is going straight to hell
Trouble brewing
People screwing
Nothing doing
Breakdown on the highway
Rulers lying
Children crying
Earth is dying
Breakdown on the highway
Repeat B Section
Instrumental Break
Cars are stalling
Mothers calling
Sky is falling
Breakdown on the highway
My dog rover
Wrapped in clover
Game now over
Breakdown on the highway

Breakdown...
Nice grungy guitar sound.
Like the chaos arp that was introduced in the "Trouble brewing" verse.
Vocals were mixed nice and up front.
Liked the guitar solo.
I kind of expect an interesting bridge or some different chord progression vibe from you.
But this one didn't have that. Seemed to be a bit short at 2 minutes.
Very good while it lasted though.
Boss Over Me
Very good. I like your lyrics as I mentioned before, they seem to tell a good story often.
1:31 a bit messy, with one element too many imho
Nice sax sounds
2:34 nice

Yeah, I kept Breakdown short and simple. Kind of a minimalist grunge track.
Boss. Yeah, the arrangement got a little loose in places and there was probably too much going on here and there. I was going for a certain sound and these jazzy type tracks are difficult for me in general. Sometimes when I stretch myself I get into trouble. But if you don't attempt it, you just stagnate. In fact, I'm going to be doing a lot of experimenting and stretching over the remainder of this CD. Honestly, I have no idea how well some of what I have planned (including a stab a Taylor Swift like arrangement) is going to turn out.
