Devs have my permission to stop developing synths when they make the 'perfect synth'... However, until then I'll buy up everything in between.
Developers!! deliver us a tool that actually works for integrating all of our sounds!

which bit of 'synth developers arent DAW developers' dont you understand?trusampler wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:35 pm My point is the synth world is over-saturated with many times the same thing over and over again. It'd be nice to see the developers with their talents to create a better solution. I'm not demanding anything of anyone, simply asking the dev's who could to take a f**king break from the norm and bring users a better option.
The idea we need 50 subtractive synths a year or 80 different dev's creating another emulation when there's plenty of that going on,is -maddening!![]()

Completely agree, I use Unify ,along with a few other smart host designs, but like you mentioned in the case of NI and Komplete Kontrol, once it comes down to adding 3rd party presets, non NKS supported sounds, we hit a brick wall..Tj Shredder wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:32 pm A DAW could give you that perspective. Bitwig is doing that, you can browse for presets. It would just load the synth associated with it...
And Unify seems to be a tool that could do that if your DAW doesn‘t. It will layer and mix whatever you throw at it. Same idea is Akais VIP... The whole idea behind NKS is also in that direction, but too much bound to the hardware NI sells...
All these solutions do allow to use any synth to place into a preset...
Personally I am happy with my DAW and have no extra need for my VIP anymore (was a bit too complicated as well)...
There needs to be a better option, as NI simply refuses to support anything other then whatever they choose.
Akai VIP same thing, dead. It's gotta be active and brilliant enough for users and dev's to want to continue to support it.

Ok perhaps,I chose the wrong wording for this, (i should have known better then to add synth,as this is KVR and if it's f**king with the development of a synth, there will be issues;) )whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:37 pmwhich bit of 'synth developers arent DAW developers' dont you understand?trusampler wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:35 pm My point is the synth world is over-saturated with many times the same thing over and over again. ...so when you've just said you use Unify, which seems to do exactly what you want, then you're wanting someone to make a thing you already have?trusampler wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:40 pmOk perhaps,I chose the wrong wording for this, (i should have known better then to add synth,as this is KVR and if it's f**king with the development of a synth, there will be issues;) )whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:37 pmwhich bit of 'synth developers arent DAW developers' dont you understand?trusampler wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:35 pm My point is the synth world is over-saturated with many times the same thing over and over again. not at all, what part are you missing now?
Does Unify allow us to use presets from all of our synths, with say Komplete Kontrol? No it doesn't.NO NKS support. Can we manage all of our libraries via a simple patch import and then use these in conjunction within Komplete Kontrol? The answer is no.
I think that the KK and Akai VIP idea's, we're great, but it's bricked when no one continues to support it. We need a dev to create a global system that all manufacturers can adhere to!

the bit where you're consistent.
dont you remember saying that you want to replace things like NKS with just one preset format? now you're saying you actually want to support all the others too?Does Unify allow us to use presets from all of our synths, with say Komplete Kontrol? No it doesn't.NO NKS support. Can we manage all of our libraries via a simple patch import and then use these in conjunction within Komplete Kontrol? The answer is no.
...goalposts in transit...
Steinberg did. Twice. NI have. Twice. And the manufacturer's didnt.I think that the KK and Akai VIP idea's, we're great, but it's bricked when no one continues to support it. We need a dev to create a global system that all manufacturers can adhere to!![]()

What I'm saying is completely consistent, we need a global option for everything under one hood to be supported. No need to try n spin it.

NKS is great if dev's will support it, the problem is no one will stick to one script!

So 'developers should create a tool that gives us one integrated preset format' becomes 'the problem is developers arent using this existing preset format'trusampler wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 4:09 pm NKS is great if dev's will support it, the problem is no one will stick to one script!
