EQ Feature requests

Hi, I got two feature requests for eq products:
1. Option to transfer the spectrum to other eq instances (like in MMultiAnalyzer or Voxengo GlissEQ)
2. For all automatic eqs: provide selectors for the effected spectrum area (like in Acon DeFilter).

This would be great improvements. Cheers, AKJ

I think this might give you some of what you want...

Does to seem to show anything from my feature requests (or do you refer to the feature of setting the analysis frequency range as a substitute to my request 2? That is something different and might just work as a very inconvenient workaround!)

Well, I wasn't sure precisely what you meant but for #1
(1. Option to transfer the spectrum to other eq instances )....
So when MAutodynamic analyzes a track that the user wants to match (frequency spectrum),
I think that you are able to copy the graph, and paste it into another instance of a Melda EQ.
I thought the video showed that (from memory...but my memory sucks sometimes!)
Anyway, now I'm curious, so I'll test it out.

2.) Once a frequency graph is generated (manually, or from the plugin's analysis), you can adjust the bands individually.
Zero-ing out any bands you desire seems like de-selecting those bands (zeroed bands would
be un-affected). Unless I still don't quite understand you exactly.

Hi,
regarding #1: I am talking about all the EQs not just automatic EQs. In the automatic EQs one could do what you are suggesting but that is very time consuming, clumsy and only works for a maximum of 2 tracks. I am talking about bringing in all features of MMultiAnalyzer directly into (all) the EQs. Maybe, this feature should be available only for those who are also having a license for MMultiAnalyzer (in order tp prevent the killing of MMultiAnalyzer sales).
regarding #2: I suggest looking at the following DeFilter video (starting from 3:35):
Something similar should be made available. At the moment we are limited to dry/wet and manual disabling of bands. The method DeFilter offers is much more elegant and useful.

On # 2: Seems like zero-ing out one or more band's gain (or reducing it) is like a more precise way of doing the same thing. In the example in the video, the reviewer chooses to keep the natural resonance of the bass. You would do that in MAutodynamic by adjusting that band. Granted, I don't think that there's a Melda plug that detects resonances. (For me, personally, I would want to do that myself anyway... but that's just me)

On #1: As you've probably noticed, there are many niches within the Meldasphere of plugins. I think that you have the gist...the premium plugins have more capabilities. Can't give away the whole store, I guess!

For 1 issue. I’ve asked for the same feature long time ago. Answer: No, cause the mixing revolution plugin will do this obsolete. So, take your time and relax and wait with a good cup of tea or just use what’s already there Voxengo GlissEq, ProQ3 and so on.

The question of resonance detection is not related to my feature request. But you are wrong, MAutoDynamicEQ, for example, can automatically remove resonances.

Did you read my sentence: "Maybe, this feature should be available only for those who are also having a license for MMultiAnalyzer (in order tp prevent the killing of MMultiAnalyzer sales)"?

Yes. I did...EDIT: but I missed the point there (mainly because I was thinking about 2 things at once, and I'm not so good at that!) Anyway, from the video that Svama posted in the other thread, sounds like a good idea. It does seem like all of the ingredients are already there.

I'm afraid this is not planned, sorry. No dev time. Plus a much better solution will be included in the "mixing revolution", the development should finally start soon.
