Not yet. I could not figure out how this could be achievedsj1 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 5:34 pm I would like to have the Composition window and the Melody Editor window open at the same time and play with the ME while the corresponding section of the Composition plays along. Is there currently a sequence of settings/operations I can make/do to achieve that?

ok, i understand now how it work. there is a menu when press right over motive or rythm called generator settting. here can choose rythm and motive parameter. maybe it is possible in future tzhat a rythm from rythm browser can choose ?.rest/hold line. rest marker(blue) add a space and hold(red) make the note continues. this is a variation so when move mouse over section then the notes change
in the line variation the popup do variation, but after that the shift and mirror symbols change the source data and are no variation.. so there is no change see when do mouse over the section when mirror or shift or transpose

If I see it again I will report. Possibly I was observing the result of mouse movement rather than motive generation.musicdevelopments wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 5:38 pmI would love to fix this. I have not seen this yet. When does it happen?sj1 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 12:17 pm A comment: I notice in the Melody Editor that sometimes generating a new motive causes the notes in the editor to jump around the screen even though the jump was not necessary to keep the notes displayed. At one point this was happening every time. Then, later, it stopped happening.
Thanks,
Attila

Soundfont. Pic attached. Thanks!musicdevelopments wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 5:53 pmI'll check this. Which instrument did you use (soundfont, VSTi, or MIDI out)?sj1 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 5:24 pm I never raised any volumes ... So why was the volume high in the Melody Editor to begin with, and why did going to Composition and back lower it?

RapidComposer v3.9b6 is available!
Many thanks for the feedback and reported bugs. I fixed everything I could today:
Fixes:
Many thanks for the feedback and reported bugs. I fixed everything I could today:
Fixes:
- Crash fixed when doing generation or mutation with all notes cleared
- Apply Changes button works in all circumstances
- When possible, generating a new rhythm pattern will make a different pattern from the previous one
- Strict constrains for usable notes and jumps better handled (e.g. melody using only 3 scale notes)
- Reset Variations will also reset rest, inversion, horizontal and vertical offset
- Other small fixes

OK, did the upgrade and immediately upon opening the attached file, everything was LOUD on the Composition page and in the Melody Editor. (Way louder than I left it).
Then I left the Melody Editor, went back to the Composition page and started it playing. Volumes adjusted down immediately.
I hope this helps in demonstrating my question. I'd just like to prevent this, either by my own actions if I can, or via a fix if it is needed.

In 3.9b6 I notice the hover help popping up quickly (which is good IMO). I just curious if a change was made from b5, as the experience seems distinctly different. No crashes here so far ...

Hi Attila!
The new Melodic Editor is great! If you could add the ability to drag grooves from the Rhythm Browser to the melodies that are generated there in the Melody Editor ,that would be great) !!)
