Hello. I'd like to understand why is it that when OSC1 is disabled in below, that all routing vanishes at the same time. There are no upstream links between OSC1 and any other module. I see String and OSC1 as independent entities - aren't they ?

It's looks like some weirdness in the Mixer and what it sees as active Inputs.

Is there a known physical metaphor for this behaviour ? I do not recall of any mixer that would swich off everything if one input was missing.

I'm not at my DAW, do I can't run a quick test. But I wonder how this works when the source is bypassed rather than disabled. There might certainly be some advantage to reducing CPU consumption when an input to the mixer is not needed.
