So how about the release a version of each of those plugins that won't require any authorisation to every customer who has a registered license ?

Part of the problem is that a lot of what makes up that list is third-party Kontakt. So even if NI did put in the time and money to do such a thing, they'd likely not be able to coordinate with all the developers to get all the libraries working. Just seems like the wrong solution.

Just guessing, but wouldn't it be a lot easier to update Kontakt to just white-list the libraries?

They are looking at the problem and potential solution from the wrong perspective i.e rather than bemoaning the logisitcs involved in bringing their archaic authorisation systems in-line with new OS' (which would indeed be a waste of resources), they should perhaps look to a solution that they can 'bolt' onto the front-end to circumnavigate the old authorisation altogether. An example I have seen suggested would be to use a serial-number generator, similar to those that software cracks use, that would apply only to the current crop of to-be-culled libraries.

5. Should Native Instruments, for whatever reasons, no longer be able to fulfill its obligations to deliver the activation key, it will provide Licensee with a key which ensures the continued use of the licensed software independent of changes to the computer.

...means that legally they have to figure something out here. Looks like them just dropping it really can't be legal.

Oh screw it! I'm going to get rid of every online activation only software! NI, Arturia, Cubase Elements, ... etc.

I have great software that has offline option and with friendly protection, why don't I use that instead?! U-he, Synapse Audio, Sugar Bytes, Tone2, Bitwig, Image Line, Samplitude and some others can even surpass NI in sound!

Synapse Audio does C/R... Magix/Samplitude as well, I think.

I am currently replacing all NI stuff as some beloved old Plugins (which have no update) are being rendered useless by this company.

This was just the last drop in the bucket, I've had it with NI.
Non-scalable GUIs, no import of my own libararies in Kontakt, CPU-hog plugins...

Soon I will be selling my Komplete license.

I will replace B4 II with VB3, which I already own.
I will replace FM8 with Dexed.
I will replace Guitar Rig with Freeware Amps and Cabinets.
I will replace my beloved Galaxy Steinway Piano from BestService (which is one of the products no longer being able to activated) with Freeware Pianos.
I will replace the Kontakt Library by just getting an EastWest subscription for for a month or two, when I am working on music that needs all that Hollywood movie sounds. It has become rare, I stopped doing library music years ago.
I will replace Kontakt with TX16w and Grace. (for my own multisamples)
I will replace Battery with Poise, which is better suited for my needs anyhow.
I will replace my Infinity Player Tron capsule with SFZs of Mellotrons and some older freeware plugins, Mellotron is all about lo-fi to me anyhow.

I never used the other stuff in Komplete very much, nothing will be missed there. I own better effects than what NI has to offer anyhow, same goes for most regular Sample Instruments in the Kontakt Library that comes with complete.

Picture a large middle finger here towards NI from my side, as I don't know if ugly swearing and pictures of a middle finger would be allowed in this forum.

You know, I even feel relieved !

bye bye NI, we had a good 15 years together, now I am filing for divorce.
Other Developers have beautful plugins as well.
A whole new world is ahead of me !

If you are prepared to bolt on a 15-year marriage at the first sniff of trouble, perhaps you need to just avoid getting into relationships

I actually checked, because I wondered too. But, Reactor 5 is 15 years old by now as well... time flies.

Reaktor 5 users may all update their version to the one still supported and able to authorize

They are not dropping Reaktor 5, only OLDER versions of Reaktor 5.

I see no reason to keep at an older version. May someone enlighten me why?

Have you ever actually had to reinstall any of the programs or sample libraries being talked about, particularly within the lifespan of Native Access? A cloned drive is not going to activate them.

And they're not going to work unless activated.

And yes, using backup copies of the libraries did actually work but only after I got them authorised by Native Access. You know, that thing that we soon wont be able to do for various libraries.
