Never forget it's all about business as usual.
Absolutely mate... $$$$! Gee thanks a free trial (as is the norm).

Make a donation instead, to help out some of the struggling care workers in your area or something similar.

I didn`t follow specific Corona sales but I remember Matt from LVC Audio sent one.
He`s a sincere guy and if the sale decision is related then he means it.
Current sale list shows reduced prices:

I'm resisting so far. Who cares if I get a plugin 50% off, if I might not live long enough to use it.. :scared:

Or I might need the money for toilet paper once it gets to EUR1k / roll
i bet you a thousand dollars you won't die.

To be fair the two aren't mutually exclusive - we don't know that they haven't donated and he's certainly not required to brag to the world about it. I'm no PA/Dirk fan but I appreciate the gesture - to me it seems to have come from a good place and not a business gimmick.

I'm not just having a pop at PA per se... I'm more or less agreeing with op that it's 'just business as usual'.
I personally, don't think that offering more free trials is anything special, it just the norm that's what most of these companies do anyway.

I can see you point about giving money to the covid 19 cause and offering free trials as not mutually related. However, I would the point out that certain other companies (in other hobbies I do) are also putting their money where their mouth is. I'm also not saying that any of these guys are NOT doing that anyway.

However, I am taking the more cynical route thinking 'meh' to the free trials, etc. Being used in any meaningful way to help people through the outbreak. I'm not saying that companies don't care about this, but I'm also saying that they may also use it to garner more sales.

Again, I'm not pointing the finger directly at any one company... But I'll be interested to see what happens in my inbox over the next wee while.

NI Are giving away Analog Dreams, which is nice too, even though I already own it as part of Komplete.

Even though PA are giving a month free, I'll not go down that route, I avoid PA like I am trying to avoid Covid 19.

I do get the cynicism part, but I do think there is some worth in the extension and renewal of demo periods; at least, assuming you are one of us who gets that itch when one of their plugins goes on sale.

with one of their plugins, they agreed to 3 demo renewals (without any question) which then allowed me to take advantage of a fantastic deal, as soon as it hit. People often take time-limited demos (especially if they are as short as 14-days) and then find themselves with ither commitments, and unable to really test. This at least allows customers to educate themselves before wasting money.

However, I think they missed a 'trick' with this. Had they offered the same thing as "Free month of subscription" it would perhaps have had much more perceived value :tu:

Just to be aware that this in Kontakt 6 only. I have 5 and it is too old.

If you put PA's 30 Days #free Demos in your List; you can also add:

http://airwindows.com

Which is 200+ free plugins (takes quite some time to go thru all of them) plus the Developer isnt asking for anything during the corona - crisis.

I will spent quite some Time in the next Weeks to re_check some of those for sure. :phones:
