While it's on my mind I'd like to revisit this FR from back in 2015 when features were being requested for V7...

  • bar mode
  • curve mode
  • automation curve like in envelope editor
That would give us at least this benefits:
  • a coupling of note editor and automation curve editor
  • the choice of editing parameter events either by bars or by (event) curve
Some details would have to be concerned, e.g. what happens when switching from event to envelope mode.

What do you think?

I find it incredibly difficult to get a useful automation curve using MU's pencil tool. Many other DAWs have a 'paint brush' allowing one to draw a curve vs. a line (i.e. Mu's Pencil). My woes are further exacerbated by the fact there's no 'convert event / parameter tweak to automation track' as discussed in this thread https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtop ... 9&t=524076. Now, you might say 'use an envelope' but that's not really the same thing either.

Since an automation curve is simply a series of vertical bars (i.e. velocity) it seems like this should be a rather straight-forward implementation.

There are related notes on the wishlist about this topic. I expect further developments in this context, but cannot yet give a timing atm.

As with my other request, thanks for letting me know MIDI 'painting' is still in the works, eventually.
This is the NUMBER ONE FEATURE which keeps me from using MuLab full-time. I need something with a more robust tool so I'll have to keep using Fruity Loops (which I'm not a big fan of overall).
