Hello – Thanks for the information that is posted on using Melda Plugins. Does anyone have a mock example of how MLoudnessAnalyzer settings are used - wondering if a complete example of how to customize the meters for targeting a specific platform or CD might exist? You guys are way more knowledgeable with audio, I am just beginning to learn. Could something be posted or a source / location of how these setting should work be shared I read the .pdf and all the posts I could find, but since I am just now learning about gain staging and setting loudness, I don’t fully follow it just yet, an example would help. Any suggestions? thanks Sorry to ask newbie question but this stuff is too much fun, I am pretty hooked.

– I did read this discussion viewtopic.php?t=460241

The resulting LU scale would be from −18.0 LU to +9.0 LU (and that would be equivalent to −32.0 LUFS to −5.0 LUFS). The Target level would be 0 on the LU meters.

Here are two screenshots showing what it would look like (I had to set the Offset to -10.40 to get a -14dB white noise signal from MNoiseGenerator to register as 0 LU in MLoudnessAnalyzer). And, as you can see, a -11db signal registers as 3 LU (actually 2.9) And, (Feature Request 1) I have add 'LU' to the figures for the LU meters as a gentle reminder what they are indicating

The client would see -14 LUFS selected on the Target slider / drop-down / button and see 0 LU on the meters and will be happy (if the audio signal hovers around 0 LU on the meters and timegraph :))

(Feature Request 2) I think that it would also be useful if the Max Short-Term level were also selectable (e.g. LU +3) and for that to be indicated on the meters and timegraph. Perhaps like this:

With the signal level between Target and Max Short-Term being shown in orange, and red above that.

PS The 0 LU level in the timegraph should be emphasised (a thick line, perhaps?) to show where the Target level is. As should the Max Short-Term level.

So... I should have twisted the knobs before posting the question and not just read the manual - it is pretty straight forward, no need for more info.

I know RIGHT! I AM in quite the "phase", halfway though a song creation, and absolutely HAVE TO get my gain staging under control, my last song was good but REALLY changed dynamics when I burned the CD's, that CANNOT happen again! You know people didn't hear the problems, everyone said the music was right up there, but I could hear the problems and the difference from the mix/cd, and want it better - ya know. So I am taking a SERIOUSLY DEEP dive into loudness, dynamics, analysis & important audio tools, DAW, mix & master tech. It is really getting better to actually know why twisting the knobs makes sound things happen. Gain staging throughout the entire chain, from playing the instruments to burning the CD's. Some of these techniques are unbelievable like mid/side compression, ducking, mid/side miking, mixing https://ask.audio/articles/sound-proces ... ide-stereo OR like Brauerizing, reference tracks, tonal balance - it IS ridiculous!
