Hey all-

I have T7, WF10, and just upgraded to WF11. For the life of me, I can't recall how I did this, but I created a folder for "T7 Projects" and "Waveform 10 Projects" and wish to do the same for WF11.

Where in Settings can I get WF11 to point to that specific folder?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think Waveform projects work that way. Waveform has its own project folders that aren't HD folders. You can save projects anywhere you like on your HD and then arrange them as you please in Waveform.

You can either create your "Waveform 11 Projects" folder using file explorer and then create/save projects in it; or you can create that folder when you create your first project using WF11.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

@pough- if I understand what you're saying...I think the Default "holding area" for tracktion projects/edits, etc, is the Documents folder. On my old computer, I must have a hundred folders created by T7, and Documents is just loaded with Traction folders (that tracktion apparently created, with the name of the project}.

I have a relatively new computer, and got WF10, installed along with T7. I wanted projects created from either, segregated- which makes the Documents folder lots neater, and less cluttered. Now, I have T7, WF10, and WF11.

If I use the "Save as" option, I can point a project anywhere, but if I can accomplish what I've asked, I can simply "Save." Basically, I want to change the default area, but for the life of me, I can't remember how I did it.

This is true for plugins too- My Documents folder is just littered with folders from all the different plugin manufacturers.

I don't think this was the way I originally did this, but this seems to work:

Create a new project, right under Name, you can point it to a folder, and this becomes the default.

From Tracktion version 1 to Waveform 11, I don't recall ever having a special folder that you can default save to. It always has asked me to specify a folder in the Create New stage. It will remember that folder the next time you create a new Project, but the folder you save to is always presented as an option you can change for each new Project that you create. "Save" is only something you can do after you have chosen the folder you're saving to.

To be honest I've always found it a little bit annoying because I like to use different folders for different Project types and I'm not always sure what type of Project it's going to be when I start.

Thanks, I seem to have it sorted out now.

In your instance, maybe create a sub-folder nested under whatever you use as the default? This only became an issue for me, when I got a new laptop with a 500 gig SSD drive. When you have a ton of plugins/samples, space is at a premium. I bought a 500 gig USB-C drive to offload a lot of Kontakt libraries. It's pretty speedy. I wasn't in any mood to install a larger SSD drive.

Only thing to consider/verify - not sure if the "remembered" folder is remembered distinctly for each version of Tracktion or Waveform. Verify if you jump back and forth between versions.
