Distortion question

Would anyone else find it useful to be able to disable the Style selector of MDistortion/MB?
I sometimes find that it colours the sound too much (even in the default setting) when I'm just looking to distort. MAmp and MCabinet both serve well enough to sculpt things if I want to simulate Style.

...or is there a better way to approach things? Suggestions?

What exactly do you make think that MDistortion colors the sound? To me it sounds totally fine, when only using it to distort the sound:

Sure: the sound gets a bit different in the end, but that's the distortion, I guess ... right? Maybe your usecase is different? i am just curious.

I recently changed my setup and have been noticing lots of sound differences...I'm probably just not used to the upgrade yet!

How is your FL to Reaper transition working out?

Very well. Almost since the first days I already got not only used to Reaper very well, but ever since I am still finding new cool features, I did not even know I could miss in FL, hehe. Also: every single FRs I posted in IL for many years, is actually a feature in Reaper already.

I do not want to write something negative about FL or IL, though! FL might still fit better to other peoples workflow. Also Reaper can be a bit hacky in very special situations, since it is heavily scriptable and "modable". So if you want to get something out-of-the-box with many stock content, FL is quite nice.

So basically:

FL = out-of-the-box, you can start quite fast.
Reaper = extremely adjustable, you feel like you can do anything, might be perfect for script kiddies like me, who just love to have full control.


Maybe I could make a list at some point with pros and cons.
