AGL 3 not working under Logic Pro X / no sound under Reaper

I've tried installing AGL 3 in Logic Pro X 10.4.8 / Catalina. No matter what I do, it does not show up in the audio units list. It shows up and validates in the plugin manager, but I can't find it to use it.

Also, I tried installing it in Reaper. When I assign it to a track, it receives audio input but produces no output sound. I've tried routing to a second track and having that go to master out with no luck.

My preference is to get this thing working in Logic - at this point, I'm beyond frustrated. Help?!

It perhaps is a known issue of Logic

Please open applications\ample sound\ashost.app, does AGL work in standalone?

Yes, it works in ASHost - but it does me no good if I can't use it in Logic.
