I created the samples for Tones, Textures and Transients in the essentials pack. I am currently setting up banks for sample selection from the easy screen. I could share this with you to save you some time.Faiky wrote: Tue Apr 07, 2020 11:59 amYes, I've also seen that's a relative path, great! Unfortunately it's a lot of work to load all the samples, you can only change the sample inside the container (not in the directory).DarkStar wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2020 8:56 am The path is where you want to put the samples. So yes, it will work whatever path the other user uses.
I've start working on the Unison module, but with that I have to completely restructure some things, I think it will take some time, I just don't have much time. I think I'll make a separate control tab with two XY pads with freely definable routings. That will surely need some concentration. But I think this is the solution.

Here is a preset for a multiparameter.
It contains 128 banks with names for the set of samples "Tones - Synthetic" in the essentials pack.
Simply load all 128 samples into 1 region in sampler, then assign the multiparameter to the sample selection parameter. Now you can select the sample from the easy screen. You can share devices and the samples will be loaded correctly for the user (assuming they have installed the essentials pack correctly)
This would need to be repeated for any other bank of samples you wish to have. Its a bit of a pain, but doesn't take too long and only needs doing once.
The problem is that the granular modulation needs setting up for each sample individually! this will be a bit of a pain. I am currently talking to Vojtech about a way to apply the modulation to all the samples. Not sure what will happen yet.

"…then assign the multiparameter to the sample selection parameter. "
Any chance of a screen shot showing exactly which parameter that is? All I can see are these 2 apparently identically purposed pairs of arrow for stepping through the loaded list, and no idea how to assign a MP to something like that:

Look in the advanced window.
The top panel is sample selection (from memory)
Change it to manual mode, then the "sample selection" will be visible.
Not in studio, so can't screenshot right now.

OK, hooked up, but…it's doing nothing. Assuming there's a few other details required to get this going, as per usual:)
It'd certainly be great to see a pretty detailed series of tutorials covering this Sampler soonish; there's SO many parameter and options, mostly labeled with unique Melda terminology… the only process I've so far managed to get work done with is importing SFZs, which does work really well.

That should be all. Not sure why it's not working.
There should be a MP with all the banks set up attached to the sample selection parameter.
(Side note, changing the MP will not VISUALLY change the sample in the sampler, but it will audibly)
Try playing the keyboard and then change the MP to a different sample, does it change the sound?

Sorry, no changes to the sound. Also, the Sample Select knob doesn't move in Edit mode when the MP is hand shifted. And shouldn't the values be stepped, with no interpolation…? Just guessing.
Maybe you'll see something here…

Slightly off-topic, but how do I get the Melda plugins to look like the screenshot in the first post? It looks great, but I can't find that style...

Yes, I see it. Look at all the values in the banks, they are the same as each other. They are supposed to be 1,2,3,4 etc.David wrote: Thu Apr 09, 2020 1:59 am Sorry, no changes to the sound. 2 solutions:
1. Reload the preset and do not delete the current assignment but rather change it (to the sample selections parameter)
2. Reduce number of banks to 2, set first one to min, set second banks to max. Now click the little menu button and interpolate banks to 128. This will auto fill the values for you.

i am very much enjoying playing with this new instrument, thank you very much for this! it's a lot of fun with vocal samples...
question: there are many references to the MSoundFactoryEssentials sample pack. i gather this is not yet available to members of the public, even those of us following this thread? if it is available, where might i find it? many thanks again!

It works, you can change the MP preset to another target, so to sample selection for example. But with extra step with the mod you can set up more samplers. If you use the mod, you have to set up the mod, too.
So very nice work jmg8, thank you. It's much work, count the folders and imagine you have to do that for all samples
. And maybe, some day there will be additional samples, then you have to rewrite the banks. Hope there is a better solution some day, but i think, i will make a sample pre selection, a selected sample selection... if you understand
