Ugh...now my Roli Seaboard 25 isn't being registered via USB either. Let's call that Issue #6?

This is a joke right? This can't be normal. Maybe the mobo was damaged in shipping? There's no way I have a PCI Firewire card that previously worked, a USB Behringer X-Touch One that previously worked, and a Roli Seaboard Rise that previously worked, all of which no longer work with this new PC on top of all the other issues I'm having. This is insane! I've never had this many problems with ANY system.

That's gotta be an issue with the board itself right? There's no way this much sh*t doesn't work.

Solution: looks like the issue here is the Roli itself. Tried on my laptop and it's not working there either. Tried on my old PC, no dice there either. Sometime in the last two weeks or so it seems to have just decided to die. It's unrelated to the new PC.

I can understand Firewire or Thunderbolt issues but not USB. That's an odd one.

Time to double check your USB drivers? Maybe legacy drivers will solve the issue.

No idea if updates to W10 might have negatively impacted on your system. I made sure my rig never updates as soon as I installed W10 - after hearing from so many friends about various issues. Other than my Firewire adapter not working and having to make the decision to switch, everything else ran smoothly, with a couple of MIDI controllers connected via USB. I'm happy to put Firewire in the past though. USB is much more stable. Well. It should be.

This seems to be a fundamental problem of the PC ecosystem that has emerged over time and increased exponentially with growth. I recently bought a Dell laptop for my mom. Camera didn't work from day one. Great...She primarily wanted it for video chatting with her grand kids. Tons of time wasted troubleshooting a new product which a customer should never have to do, come to find out a Windows update killed the camera. Dell chose a VR camera from Intel. Intel decided to abandon a brand new product as a business decision.Dell blames Intel, Intel blames Windows, Windows blames Intel. Nobody wants to lift a finger for a brand new product that doesn't work as advertised.
Never been a MAC guy, have used them before in labs, but for the first time in my life after that exhausting experience,...I think I understood why some people are willing to pay the markup for MACs closed system.

I haven't had any USB issues with my AMD music PC, but then I'm not throwing anything more exotic at it than some MIDI keyboards and an Arturia Audiofuse interface. The only issues I had initially were before I got the Arturia I used a Focusrite Scarlett I'd used with my prior PC and it was an Intel and had the same issue - noise over USB, think it was a known issue with that gen of the interface I had, possible lack of internal shielding.

I was surprised to learn that there is actually an AMD that offers Thunderbolt now - even if you did have to pay £500 for the M/B, I paid £120 for my X470. I'd want to ensure it was actually compatible with gear before I bought anything though and that'd probably involve waiting for confirmation from other people that they had the same setup.
Oh yeah the one bit of weirdness I did get with my AMD board was it came with a USB 3.1 header that no-one seems to ship a part for so I ended up forking out for a PCI-E USB card with a USB 3.1 port just so I could charge my bloody phone in an emergency.

I know people generally just go for Intel in music production, but their current CPUs just aren't bang-for-buck competitive IMO.

Might be that your Mobo is a piece sheet ... Id contact AsRock about it or just get with the company you bought the Mobo from and pull that bad boy out . I had to RMA a Mobo one time , 1366intel Gigabyte Mobo with Ti FireWire (internet port went bad) , and was back up and running three weeks later . Still working til this day ... So I bet you got a bad Mobo.

Issue 3:My Behringer X-Touch One just refused to work.
Solution: None yet. Apparently, this is an issue with multiple AMD X570 boards where the onboard USB doesn't like the X-Touch. Saw some posts suggesting buying a USB3 PCIe card would do the trick. Seriously? I gotta buy another card just to make USB work?

IF the USB chipset is incompatible there is no other way...

set the motherboard BIOS PCIe to GEN 3, not AUTO or GEN 4

Might be a good excuse to get a Platform M+. I was contemplating one of those for myself. Sold my Behringer BCF 2000 a little while ago and am missing the tactile interaction.

Had the same issue as the X-Touch mentioned here with the Platform M+ (but, all other USB device do play fine with the AMD/x570 ccombo so far, among them a RME Babyface Pro. No UAD or Roli though..).
Been in contact with support for 2 months now.... first round, not usable at all.
Icon blamed ASRock (X570-Phantom-Gaming-ITX-TB3 in my case) for 'underpowered' USB ports, pointing to issues with x570 boards generally (another angle could be that manufacturers have/had soso drivers/firmware, and never needed to run on anything other than intel for the last 5+ years...) and suggested the only fix to get the Platform to run again would be to get an additional PCI USB card...
Low and behold though, after a few more emails, I then got a beta driver / firmware, which at least made the Platform M+ recognized as a USB device again on the x570 system; but then started to act erratic (buttons were not staying lit, etc,) so Icon released another firmware (2.11 beta) which has also fixed the button light issue (and is now available through iMap...), and after 2 months+ the Platform M+ now also works on an x570 based system as intended.
Just some anecdotal bits that it's not necessarily the x570/AMD combo's fault...

USB 3 pcie card recommendation: I'd try another USB 3 card - that is a cheap solution the card that I bought for my Intel 3930k after one of the USB 3 ports failed. I used a Startech and it worked with everything that I have in my studio. I don't have the Behringer controller that you mention but this works with all my synths and controllers here (close to 30 connected devices using hubs) . I do have the Behringer BCR2000 and it is working fine. I have run it for a few years now. The card was about $16.00 USD so it is worth trying even if it doesn't work out for you. Edit: I humbly defer to Pictus' comments regarding USB 3 chipsets.

Ryzen with Pre Octo-UAD-2 CARDS (Bios Update and Generation 2 Tweaks)

Regarding the UAD-2 card issues I almost went with ASROCK for my Ryzen build (for a friend) because I read some people got those older quads, duos and solos working but I went with Asus x570 Prime Pro motherboard.. I updated the Bios.. put my two UAD-2 quads below the top slot for the GPU and they worked. (I also tested a duo and solo card and they also were detected and loaded and unloaded their plugins perfectly).

I read on forums that some people got pre OCTO UAD-2 cards working by changing the PCIE port designation to generation 2 or 3 using BIOS settings. I didn't have to do that with the ASUS board as the UAD-2 cards were supported out of the box following the BIOS update. This issue isn't specific to AMD motherboards as I understand it ... some new Intel builds are also having issues recognizing the older UAD-2 cards.

I think the problem comes down to the USB chipset manufacturer. I heard that some ASMedia chipsets have caused problems for certain interfaces but haven't heard anything else.

My motherboard is a X570 Auoris Master and they use a Pericom chip for the USB 3 and GL850S for USB 2.

ASRock, DriverBooster... lol I would not even touch both of it. That is a first lesson i got since my first days in IT. I don't get about RME Fireface 800 and USB described in issue 1. Fireface is a 1394 interface. It is known that firewire interfaces are very picky about the firewire chip installed. In my expirience TI chip is the only one that worked well wherever i put it. But i don't understand what about USB, what did you connected to a USB port at issue 1?
Issue 4 - you have to configure fan profile. It is better to do it manually than to select a preset.

Asrock as a mobo supplier is very decent. I'd take them over MSI and some other such makers any day. They have generally very good boards. Their support, on the other hand, might suck. Once had to ask them something, but don't think I ever got the any response back. But this might have been an one off thing, so take it with a pinch of salt.

DriverBooster, on the other hand, is pure garbage. Never use such utilities as they will always make things worse.

Overall this is the reason why I still (As)rock with my old Extreme4 G3 Z68/i7-3770K/Antec P193 as the main DAW. Obviously it has seen upgrades over time to SSD's, new fans, RAM, a new GPU (just a month a go) and some other bits. After the GPU upgrade, I'm sure I can get at least 2 years out of this system still. Even though I will eventually switch to modern Ryzen based system, it will also mean replacing all my PCI based audio interfaces. But at the moment, I'm just not yet ready let go of my Delta cards and OmniStudio.
