Yeah. Sadly the whole "clip containers" thing was IMO overdone and it doesn't give ANY benefit that I can see, instead bringing lots of confusion: fades in arrangement don't get "printed" if you consolidate or bounce-in-place it, you can't stretch clip containers on the timeline, you can't drag single-shot clip to Drum Machine without it asking you to slice it, even inside the editor you can't stretch the audio beyond clip container, until you extend it... :dog:

I really hope they'll soon show some features that justify it, because for now there's none.

You can still do “crazy modulations” in Ableton

https://isotonikstudios.com/product/modulat/

I use BWS and Ableton and for me Audio mangling workflow is way more efficient and fun in Live.
And then the slice sensitivity control in Simpler....

And so far quite stable with Modulat.

IMO bitwig way is perfect. Bounce in place turns your midi to audio, while you have freedom to use track fx. If you want to "print" everything to audio, you hit bounce. Everything is on a new track and you can shut down the original and move it to for example track pool group, if you later need to edit something.

If you buy something like a Korg NanoKontrol (like I have), then you get a voucher for €30/£40/$50 from Korg. It can be used on an upgrade from Live 10 Lite or from buying a normal version.

It is no possible I think, because prices in USA is mentioned without VAT, so it means that VAT will be added at checkout.

As this will take otherwise forever, I'll ask:
"Have you tried Studiovision?"

You really don't have to explain to me that... I'm talking about audio clips - add a fade out and do bounce-in-place and it won't be included. Sure you can do regular bounce post-fader and then it will, but that requires going to another menu and dragging the sample back from a newly created track. That's not a speedy workflow, especially compared to Live.

Drag & drop only works if you drag the sample from Project Browser or - probably - from Editor Panel when you select Event not the Clip. Otherwise it asks to Slice the sample.

No, it depends on the clip. If for example you have a drum loop from which you cut out just the snare and then want to stretch, it won't let you - you first need to extend the boundaries of the clip. It works fine for samples that are used in their entirety, that's true.

Again, all of those are because of Bitwig's differentiation between clip and event. I wouldn't mind that, if there were some benefits to that distinction and there are NONE. You can't even have MIDI and audio in a single clip on a Hybrid Track, even if they perfectly sit next to eachother on that track...

Anyway, I just sold my Live 10 Suite license, so obviously Bitwig is still superior to me despite the above :)

Definitely. If working with audio was in any way important for me, I'd not use Bitwig as it is now. But luckily it's less than 5% of time I spend on a project, usually less - just an odd hi-hat & cymbal ride sample (that I trigger from Sampler) or some spoken sample for a breakdown or something. Everything else is MIDI, for me :)

i installed lite yesterday, i didnt know you can warp there too, i thought this was restricted, so i hope lite can give some good insights. it definitely is hard to get into. as a fl studio user ableton looks so thin and small everything i need a magnifying glass ;D. but i check a beginners tutorial atm. i dont get the advantage of the clip view so far, i always work in playlist view in fl studio too so i hope it works in ableton too like tthat. just need to get into today. hope i will like the workflow. maybe imma install some new theme, the default one is just ugly :D (we fl studio kids love our shiny colours lol)

I think Lite has 16 tracks (8 audio/8 midi) total whereas Intro has 16 Audio/16 midi.

Bitwig has 2 different clip launcher views while ableton only has one 8)

It's so easy to drag a clip from arrangement to vertical clip launcher, make couple of variations, pick the best and drop it back to arrangement view. And still have all your variations saved in the launcher. Yes you can do that in live too, but it requires tab hitting and the launcher is horizontal.
