I'm not the one posting eye-rolling emojis.

Oh wow, how did I forget about this. Yeah, Razor is killer. Between Harmor, Loom, and Razor you really have all additive bases covered. Razor overlaps with Harmor a great deal in terms of the sounds it can produce, but it's way more accessible. Loom 2 is nowhere near as impressive as either when it comes to messing with partial frequencies (as opposed to amplitudes.)

Perhaps. But he asked if there are any additive synths, not which ones are good, or which ones do you prefer.

Anyways, on a more serious note, I like Synclavier V.

+1! I'm always surprised and impressed how great and powerful it sounds each time I reopen that monster additive synth.

I made it clear in my post that I don't know the boundaries. I had been under the impression that FM synthesis is additive. Excuse me for being wrong! I am also aware that definitions change as we become more particular so maybe I am not alone and you are not so right. What I do have that you clearly don't is a friendly attitude towards strangers. I'll tell you what - why don't we abandon forums completely and not discuss anything, after all, we have Google to talk to don't we?
An FM algorithm can be additive, if it has two or more carriers going directly to the patch's output. There is a common misconception that 'true' additive must involve a lot of oscillators, each with their own envelopes. This type of additive is certainly a valid use of the term, but it is more correctly named Fourier synthesis. The additive engines in Falcon and Pigments offer a lot of parameters that allow for changes in amplitudes, frequencies, and other things. Falcon is also capable of doing the traditional Fourier type of additive, if you're willing to take the time, and your computer can handle the load.
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...
