How to use the new Arpeggiator?

It may be a setting. F8 is a MIDI clock event, and the 0:0:0 may be resetting the clock to 0; at 24 times a second ? See if you can disable that on the Novation ... Not sure if filtering it on an individual track would be "too late" and the timing in Waveform being messed up because of external clock events.

I'll try my very best ... and will report.

Now it's getting really strange.
For recording my main DAW is reaper. I set a track to the launchkey and put a midi event monitor at that track. Surprise surprise, no event except when pressing a key is going to be reported.
Will have a look to find an event reporter for live, but tomorrow.
Very big :?:

Hi and good morning,
ableton live: not an event recorder but when launchkey is connected live indicates an permanent incomming sync signal.
I guess, this is the '00:00:00.000 f8' I have reported and is monitored, and misinterpreted by waveform. reaper seem to handle this event in a correct way, so it is not to be seen in reapers monitor nor does it lead to any strange events.
Am I right?

This appears to be a known issue/feature on the launchkey. See here :

I would see if you can disable MTC and/or midi clock in Waveform, but I'd also raise a case with novation to ask how to turn that off. My guess is if the launchkey has it's own arpegiator or similar generator, it might be to do with that somehow.

Things I would try would be firmware upgrade on the launchkey, turning on, and off midi clock and MTC respond and send, in Waveform, looking for similar options for the launchkey, and setting the launchkey into HUI mode, and mapping it as a controller in Waveform, since this could be part of Automap, which they've now deprecated, and prefer HUI

But mostly I'd ask Novation support wtf the launchkey constantly sends a timing message

Thank you for the link.

Yes, there is an arpeggiator in, but the LPK25 has one too. I argue, it has to do with the interaction of live and launchkey in general to get them synchronized for all kind of events, but in the end, that doesn't matter.

I will ask Novation if there is a way out but waiting for an answer from tracktion too (as reaper seem to have no problem with that).

A bit of a workaround... if you are on the Mac you could try using OSCulator to forward the wanted MIDI data from the launchkey to its virtual MIDI output while leaving out the timing signals, effectively acting as a filter.

I don't have a launchkey so I can't try this myself, but in theory it should work... then just point Waveform to the OSCulator output instead of the launchkey directly...

If reaper defaults to not respond to midi clock from external devices, it may not display an issue, because it's ignoring the messages.

Your external device is sending midi clock messages 6 times per midi beat, and waveform is in some way trying to accommodate that. I'm not sure how to turn off Waveform responding to midi clock tbh. It'd be better if your device stopped sending it.

I think you want to go to Global / Routing / MClck-Out on the Launchkey, and change it to not send midi clock to the USB port that you use to connect it to your laptop. If it's set to Any, it'll be sent over USB. Your options are things like U1 for USB, or M1 for the midi port on the launchkey. Just change it so it's sending to M1, instead of Any, and you might find your problem goes away

Hi,
I've got an answer on my request from novation. My assumption is correct, this is a clock signal, but can't switched off.
Meanwhile I have updated my ticket with tracktion, but have not got an answer yet.

So the way I posted to turn off sending midi clock over USB doesn't work?

It was from a Novation manual.

Hi chico,
I think, the 'normal' launchkey differs from the launchkey mini MKIII I have.
