Hey, first off, you don't need to worry about Melda "running out of licenses". They don't do stupid gimmicks like that. Melda has about the most straightforward licensing and fair upgrade paths of any of the Devs out there. They were one of the first to come out with the "rent to own" subscription model too. If you own individual plugins, the bundle upgrades are even better because the give you credit for the plugins you own.

The first thing I did when I started with the Melda plugins was upgrade the FREE pack. It unlocks a lot of useful features in those. Also, you mentioned sitting a vocal into a dense rock mix. Watch a few tutorials on MSpectralDynamics. MAutoVolume is great leveling vocals, but nothing compares with MSpectralDynamics to getting a vocal sitting in a mix!

The Melda plugins I use all the time: MAutoVolume, MAutoAlign, MAutoDynamicEQ, MSpectralDynamics, and the "easy" versions of MTurboReverb and MTurboComp, MDoubleTRacker and MUnision...

I freely admit to NOT being a "power user". I'll generally put the more complicated plugins in my mixes and scroll through presets to find one in the ballpark, then tweak from there. Especially the case with the MTurbo plugins. And the Melda reverbs sound gorgeous! I love MCharm for its simplicity.

On a side note, speaking of amazing reverbs, I'll put in a plug for Hyperspace by UnitedPlugins. It's on sale now too and is a very creative and user friendly take on a super powerful and is another excellent reverb. What I like so much about it is how easy it is to get to a good sound - a very good sound. And all the "tweakability" is there still there too. For ease of use I give it a 10/10.

I did start with the upgrade to the free bundle - After the upgrade it is a little weird to have paid for it and it is still called the free bundle - It IS worth every penny! And I think it really helps Melda get users involved with the plugins. And also did give the MEssentialsFX a good look and then saw the deals of the Melda Dynamics plugins and well for a little bit more...

I have been reading and learning alot and info is out there about Melda's Dynamics plugs and so I really want to give those a roll in my projects. I have had quite a few of UAD's reverbs and channel plugins with a significant investment into 2 Apollos + Twin-Finity and some 80+ primo plugins for my hardware side (years ago, when I was making $$, no longer true) Have been quite happy with the workflo of those, really helps to stay, able to be creative and not mired in i/o BS like when I used Yamaha and MOTU, just a migraine. Yamaha stuff lasts FOREVER so I do respect it, but alot of the interfaces are VERY complex. I have a number of UAD's reverbs, lexicon, ocean-way, EMT, roland, so they can serve my projects well, arguably some of the best, so I don't NEED to get more.

So I did get the MMasteringFXBundle & MAutoVolume. Also have iZotope Tonal Balance Bundle, its was $199 and for me as I am inexperienced it IS super helpful. I put Ozone 9 on my project and the improvement was really quite eye opening, same with Neutron and all that stuff and there is a lot in that bundle. So, then I can go into detail with it and see where things were set and make tweeks and LEARN. But, iZotope’s ARE CPU KILLERS! That is one thing that is impressive with Melda’s reviews and one big reason that I felt its important to get these tools, and their power is well known respected and pretty much raved about. I also like what TDR is doing but they too are CPU hungry, so MELDA!

I also took a good look at ALL Melda plugs and came away with some observations – MAN their effects are KILLER! I have seen a lot of delays and chorus’ and flangers etc. BUT Melda’s are amazing, a little bit “tweeky” but really powerful. My work flow now does not accommodate in the box effects so well. For guitar I would have to route the computer into the front of the tube amps could be done but, yah, not so much, do I want to… I mean the cords would be LONG and, blah, blah… I certainly will keep those effects in mind for in the box things they are the best for sure. When I was younger the MXXX thing might have appealed to me, but now as I run out of time here on earth, I am pretty much done spending hours on end twisting controls to torture out a new sound. I gotta get some songs done. The very idea of over 500 presets just makes my head hurt, and really I don’t want something in front of the plugins to deal with either. I mean just the videos are hard to get through and really the sounds are not at all old school which is what I am after. But I can see the attraction, for those who want to tweek and fiddle about, I did my fair share in the past, I am just past that now. Hey – best of luck to you all!

So now my little music studio with those above, Cubase + Absolute is maybe world class and really can't ask much more that that!

Happy to help out, but you sound much farther down this road than I has thought from your post. I'm a big Izotope and TDR Nova fan too, but don't use them nearly as much because of the CPU hit. I have Neutron 2 and it's got some cool features, but you need a super computer to use it! (N3 is supposed to be better.) If I use TDR's Nova, it's always on "Eco" or the next setting up - "Precise"? It can detroy your CPU too. But I do love the UI on that one.

Regarding performance, great sounding plugins aside, one of the nifty things built into the Melda ecosystem is the "Plugin Kerrnal". I never really see this talked about: https://www.meldaproduction.com/about/t ... gin-kernel

Admittedly though, MSpectralDynamics and the Reverbs can make your PC cry in no time at all. They can suck up CPU cycles with the best of them if you're not careful!

Interesting - so mine is OZ9 and Neu3 and yah still kill cpu. I can really only run 3 neutrons in my DAW and it is not a huge cpu but respectable

Cubase 10.5.12 Absolute 4 ASUS X99 i7-5960X 3GHz Win10 pro64 16GB, os is ssd, audio is ssd, 2 cascaded silver thunderbolt Quad Apollo's Console 2.0 v9.11.0 11-06-2019 build 65970 w80 UAD plugins.

I am hoping that I can use neutron and ozone to learn some things what needs to be done and then swap out MDynamicEQ to use more instances (hope I can admit that here ) - don't know just got em... Really excited to try out MAutoDynamicEQ and the auto comp & eq too - the MMasteringFXBundle is just an amazing package. Just hope I can learn to do these justice. I am so grateful to Melda for this Easter sale. They had to have just sold a bunch of these - I hope that is really good for Melda, ya know. They can know as for me well I spent some of my last money in this world on these (really not a joke), just don't tell!

I will check out that engine info. I was a software developer in emt tele com infrastructure so I know OO methodology can be leveraged, seems it is evident in the Melda line. It is scary that one guy does all the dev tho. I know that it is easier for one brilliant guru to build an empire. Many of the most outstanding software contributions have been master minded by Guru's. I do hope he stays FAR AWAY from buses, and other hazards (stairs) it's is a joke we engineers would laugh about, but the risk is very real. I have seen it happen. I also learned in my years as a developer that sometimes you have to slow down to catch up. The most import thing is you have to choose is what NOT to do. I am quite sure Vojtech already lives that one, eh? Thanx Again!
