Will ST3 not run in Catalina for you? Or does it balk at the installer?

I have ST3 and ST4 running side by side - but this machine started with Mojave and everything IK was installed before moving to Catalina.

I get an error message telling me cannot be installed on my system and advising me to contact the developer. I’ve sent an email to IK support.
Pretty disappointed in them for this.

Sample Tank 4 SE is included in Total Studio Max 2 and plays all the Studio Max content.

Sample Tank 4 CS and not SE, but otherwise wot he sed.
Authorize it (using Authorization Manager and the serial from your IK account), download it and its small 3GB sample library, install both and you should find when you launch it that it has scanned your SampleTank 3 content so you can find it in S4CS. All your Miroslav, Syntronik etc content is in the SampleTank 3 sound content folder so that should also become available.

According to the information they gave in their own forums, Sampletank 3 is considered an older product which will no longer receive updates. If you want to use it on Catalina, they suggest to upgrade to Sampletank 4.

Unfortunately, Total Studio 2 Max does not give you any benefit for upgrading to ST4. This is one of the reason I uninstalled the entire IKM suite. Their upgrade policies seem to be mainly designed to annoy people.

I believe there's a misunderstanding here. The Sample Tank 3 plugin isn't being upgraded, but if you have Total Studio 2 Max you can install ST4CS and use that plugin to access all your ST3 sound libraries. The only point in upgrading to ST4 full would be to access sound libraries that were added after ST3.

You can use Sample Tank 4 CS* which you now get free with Total Studio 2 Max to access the Sample Tank 3 libraries.

Usually with IK you have to add VAT after reducing it by the 30% Jam points ... so you end up with not that much of a deduction.

Plus: the whole sale is pervert: Crossgrade for current IK owners of a product over $99.
I.e., the sale is the same for loyal clients purchased $ 300+ and owning already 90 % of the bundle, than a new client purchased one product for a sale for $ 50 (regular price 99).
The sale % should have more steps, of course, to be fair.

Agree. And those Jampoints are completely useless for those that has a high VAT. I have to pay 25% VAT and Jampoints can be "only" 30 pct. of the total amount to pay. So in reality Jampoints are useless in EU. I would rather have them to abolish Jampoints than pretend that they can be used for anything else than false advertisement.

I always end up buying IK software elsewhere. So thats why I have €239 useless Jampoints.

Well a 10% off coupon at Guitar Center is useless for me since it comes down to 1.3% off. In the U.S. online purchases now charge your local tax.

OK I guess we're both right. I bought it before Nov 13, 2018, so I got a serial in my account for Sampletank 4 CS and that can be used to load the Sample Tank 3 sound libraries.

But they don't charge foreigners taxes - at least not companies located in California as far as I know. Rules seems to be different depending on state.
