I must say i really like the new arp the most. The rest is ok but really not as useful for me.
I guess most of us have a better third-party-eq's than the new eq+. The analyzer is not great compared with fabfilter and many others. The workflow of the eq+ isn't great too.
I'm also missing all those little workflow-things which were demanded by the users for years ( i don't need to repeat all this now). Also i expected more work on inconsistencies and streamlining (timestretch in the sampler...)
And please let us hide all those redundant bitwig-devices.
Why is there a new control in the tool-device instead of just hiding and renaming the old device so it can be used in old projects. Strange decision...

I just had a project crash and hang with loud noise (can't reproduce why). Then i saved and the whole project now is corrupted and does not make any sound when i load it up.
Also some vst's are not working for me right now (need to test this more).

I guess there is room for improvement and i hope you guys have MUCH more in you sleeves

Disappointing update. Was hoping for some 'basic' stuff that's missing like midi time stretch and audio-to-midi. The rainbow colours are absolutely awful. Not quite sure why the devs thought we needed another EQ and a saturator plugin, my VST folder is full of amazing versions of these. My account is active until November but unless there's a change in direction I will be having a good hard look at where I go from there.

Sure, but you gotta work hard to stretch it the hell out. Unless Bitwig devs live in a world where lack of Array and N-Latch modules were something people were loosing sleep over the last 30 years :) :D

I mean I get it. I don't mind the EQ+, Saturator, all the new stuff but they f**ked up bit with those rainbowy colors. It looks ridiculous.
They said they will be adding some new devices and modules, plus some new approaches to old problems. They never said they would focus exclusively on one area but that they would do both.

One old problem is switching presets live... the Selector devices are a new solution to a long existing problem. The new modes are quite useful. Audio engine improvements and controller improvements are some basic stuff that is added. There are also a number of small but useful workflow enhancements.

But hey, if you are not happy with the update, that is your business... just it seems like the update follows what they said on the site and it is easy for people to interpret such statements according to their own wishes. Maybe you put them up too high before, now you gotta take them down a couple notches. :)

Oh, I am not keen on the rainbow colors either. It does not, at first glance, seem like an improvement to me. But I can live with it.

The colours is a visual aid that's all. It does however highlight the "issue" of themes not being in yet. Clearly not everyone, myself included (although I don't find it particularly egregious), is a fan of the contrast between saturated rainbow colours and a black background. I'm personally clamoring for a light version of the interface.

Otherwise pretty chuffed with this update. Small thing, but I'm glad to see we've gotten Q settings for shelves now.

I don't mind the colors, but I do agree that the modulation color interfering with the rainbow color (blue on blue) is not helpful.

I am happy with the colors. As an old FL and Live user, I always found them to look really "dull". However, if there is too much colors, that is not good either. I've found Bitwig looks super nice and I like it. It's clear. Nothing to complain here.

However, more and more I use Bitwig, I found some things are missing. Like automation. It is quite simple. Would love to see automation clips like in FL, and I would like to see the tension line between dots without shortcut key.

I would also like to see right click automation poins -> pop up menu -> copy value. Move to another point, right click -> paste value. So copy paste to automation point values. Would help a alot.

You can either time-select a range and Ctrl+drag it elsewhere to copy, or box-select a point, Ctrl+C, go elsewhere and Ctrl+V

Yeah, I know, I just want to copy one individually point value. Ableton just added this feature to Live 10, and now that I don't have it, I am missing it.

I am also not really bothered either way about the colours on knobs (I like it in the displays) but I do agree that any sort of theme editor would help with all of the individual preference. The midtones and black level adjustments were a great help, I like the look of Bigwig much more now that I have it 'almost black' rather than grey. It would be great to be able to pick a 'colour palette' as well.

Bitwig has always been pretty colourful - I rather like that

I’m disappointed as well. I was hoping for improvements that cant be replaced by vst.
Example: Eq+ can’t compete with other vst solutions (like fabfilter, melda and many more) if you are a producer who owns a good eq already, you won’t benefit from this new device.

I agree with many former writers. Personally, I need stuff like comping, midi, rex, ara2. Stuff I cant implement by using vsts. I had an active plan from bitwig 1.0 until 3.03. now I’m hesitating for a year.

If i could integrate vsts i would really like the grid.

How do you want to integrate them (out of interest)? I am not sure how this would work.

That's a good question...

Like so:
I can already modulate parameters in my 3rd party plugins via the Bitwig modulation system.
