Hello!
I have a question. Would it be possible to route a whole submix track to another track? For now, there isn't any output selectable in the submix out box at the end of the track wiew (or mixer at the very bottom) and the submix goes directly to the main output.
Example: I have two drum kits in two separate submixes. Each submix is treated some way (compressors, equalizers, saturations, ...). I would like to send these two submixes to a (let's call it) Drum Bus. In any other DAW there isn't any problem. But Waveform, in this situation, sends all the single tracks from these two submixes directly to the Drum Bus, but they don't do through the submix plugins.
Also, I would like to send all existing tracks and submixes to a "Pre-Master" bus, so I could have more than 4 final plugins inserted.
I can imagine, this might be a huge ammount of work, but don't tell me, nobody wants this too :-o :-D

P.S. I know, I can have a submix in a submix in a submix... But it's not the same in the terms of a workflow.

Thank you! :-)

You could always stick an aux send followed by a volume control plugin at the end of the submix and turn that volume control all the way down...

Don, t use submix, but send individual tracks to another one, that u treat as a bus. Then you can send that bus track to another one.

The main thing you lose that way is the ability to collapse the submix to hide the contained tracks; that may or may not be important to you.

There are many ways to do this - you could also route the audio through a rack, etc.

Thank you all. Your advices are very valuable. I will absolutely make it work this way. But still, a traditional submix signal flow is the best solution, which unfortunately doesn't work. You mentioned beforethe reasons why it sucks. I know Waveform is a special DAW in many ways (the reason we love it), but this classic approach would be great. I wonder if it's possible in W11...

What do you consider to be a "traditional" submix signal flow?

What don_ortalion outlined above is exactly what I would consider that to be... just create a normal track to serve as the submix and route the audio tracks into that, then that submix track back into the main output...
