Why not?
B. “Triggering demand” If it’s an honest ad or it’s posted in the obvious places (sell and buy) then, yes, that’s great. If it’s a bit of a manipulative play to look like info but be made for generating sales it is not ok. That’s called bs.
No, being manipulated into buying stuff is not a win/win. Dishonesty is never a win/win.Obviously it‘s a win / win situation:
happy business guys plus bored forum guys being able to tell the world about their deep knowledge.
Obviously KVRaudio is both a marketplace and a forum. They sell ad space. If they were to start favoring certain devs over another or to encourage surreptitious advertising that would be a step in the wrong direction. I don’t see that happening right now.
I do see what i consider a lot more shilling than i remember from back when but perhaps i’m just noticing it. I have also noticed more corporate apologists coming out of the woodwork. I am not surprised since i have seen what i consider a race to the bottom of the barrel on the internet as far a crass commercialism.
Ah, well, i appreciate that there is still plenty of non commercial discussion here, too.
