special textures didnt work for me. but a whole bunch of others did including Vibrations. trying them out now.GoldieK wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 5:05 pm Ableton has a couple of free packs they are offering to Ableton owners. If you have multiple licenses, you have to purchase Spectral Textures for each of them for it to work.

Not a freebie, but can highly recommend the (50% off at €4.99) Rusted Keys collection for Analog Lab/Pigments, very nice blend of processed keyboard sounds.telecode wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2020 1:02 pm I picked up a few sample packs on sale from Arturia. This one is a freebie in case anyone interested.

Spectral Textures will only work in Ableton Versions 9/10 and only in Intro. Standard and Suite. Sadly it doesn't work in Lite, sorry if my initial post was not clear as it could have been.telecode wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2020 12:21 pmspecial textures didnt work for me. but a whole bunch of others did including Vibrations. trying them out now.GoldieK wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 5:05 pm Ableton has a couple of free packs they are offering to Ableton owners. Sometimes it is VAT. I know I use one retailer for some items that JRRShop is not allowed to discount because they sell it net of VAT, which ends up being lower. And they give points. The points aren't much really. And generally, their prices are more than JRR's with the discount codes. Plus my credit card doesn't charge foreign transaction fees that would wipe out any savings you get if you use the local currency.timbit2006 wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:48 am No I know that and it's always smart to try out the FORUM code just in case. In this case with the discount the price is the same and I get 11 dollars worth of points on my purchase. I'm not keen on mentioning the competing retailer because I don't want to take business away from JRRshop but it's seriously making me wonder what the actual reason behind Retailer A not being able to offer points and Retailer B being able to offer points is.

Agree with this. I also got this a while ago. Can anyone recommend any Pigments packs that are good? The Pigments packs are usually priced higher (they tend to have double or triple the preset counts than regular arturia collection packs) so I usually don't pull the trigger on them.

Synthwave 2085 is great if you like that genre, lots of retro sounds and some really good effects linked to the macro knobs which can change one patch to be used in multiple ways.
I couldn't find much usable in Razor Bass, but I'm not into hard EDM Reese bass type stuff. I also acquired Percussive Drive and Tactile Strike, the former's got some percussive and bass sequences, but nothing I'd probably use and the latter has some quite nice bell type noises which may work if I do something ambient/peaceful again.
So for me I'd say just Synthwave 2085 and Rusted Keys.
Oh and my favourite ever patch note comes from a Synthwave 2085 patch named "Hi Tech Montage Sequence"
Are you composing for a movie of an AI that happens to be a supercar? Or a car that is also a time machine? Or a robot that is also a cop? Does it have a technologic "montage" sequence? Just hold D#1 and play with the rest of the black keys... done!

You might notice the newer ones are the higher priced ones mostly, especially for Pigments. The higher priced ones usually are more presets as well (but not always).telecode wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2020 4:31 pmAgree with this. I also got this a while ago. I picked up four. Two were made with Pigments in mind. Wavetable Choirs & Aphex Ambient seem good so far, but haven't delved too deeply into yet.
The other two I picked up is the XTGrain for CMI, which I also like and Efficient Pads 2, which is made with three other synths. All seem worth the sale price to me.
Might pick up the 21st Century Organs as well...
