Has anyone tried to integrate the OrchestralTools Sine Player into MuLab?
Is this possible?

Reason is that I like the sounds of the Orchestral Tools "Layers" (Free download)
https://www.orchestraltools.com/store/collections (scroll to the very bottom)

Any advice appreciated.

Following a search through the file directory I found C:/ProgramFiles/VST Plugins/SINE Player.dll

I have been able to load Sine Player as a VST into MuLab 7, and I can load the Player.
I can then load in an instrument and an articulation into a Rack, but so far only one.

I'm pleased to be able to report that I've managed to get MuLab to load 4 x SINE Player Racks each with one of the four Free Orchestral Tools "Layers" instruments. The first few times it didn't work until I closed the programme (MuLab) and reopened it.

The trick is to create a Rack at the bottom for the first SINE Player.
In that rack open SINE Player and load say "Woodwind" all articulations.
(Just Woodwind - not any other instrument)
Then create a sequence on the LHS Pianoroll and start logging some notes.
To change the articulations from say Sustain to Staccato use the notes C-0 to G-0,
NOT C-1 to G-1 as it says on the SINE Player!!!

THEN create another Rack at the bottom for the "Brass" etc
repeat steps above . . .

THEN similar for STRINGS & ORCHESTRA

So I've answered my own question - and hopefully helped anyone else along the way.

Thanks!

I can confirm the path to Layers. Then just add it as usual, but as you said, just one instrument per rack. Note though that there is no need for putting Layers in the last slot in the rack; it's fine putting it topmost as usual. BTW, it's very impressive with the new Supermassive reverb from Valhalla and some space (Vangelis-type) pad.

Can't help with the Sine Player, but an alternative with articulation, modulation, and a good selection of instruments that works well in Mulab 8 is the BBC Orchestra by Spitfire Audio. It should be possible to pull in the entire Orchestra, but my needs are not that great. The Mozart Excerpt uses 8 tracks of the BBC Orchestra, some double tracks, with hardly a bit of CPU being needed. I found the BBC plugin to work swiftly and simple to apply.

For an overview of the BBC package, which can be obtained for Free, watch the video.

Thanks! The free stuff from Orchestral Tools are not the same thing as the typical orch library: it's full chords (major/minor/sus etc) for various instrument groups. Very nice if you just need some orch chords, say, for a pop ballad. Of course, there are modulations and so on, but as far as I know, there are no individual violins, for example.

Must say the Spitfire Lab library was great though, for "only" 200 MB! Great example as well. :tu:
