I don't understand the push for NKS either. In fact, I just read up some to figure out what I might be missing. Even still, I don't really get it. It seems like a strange ecosystem, because the endpoint is only NI hardware? Do I have that correct?

Moreover, what about DAW integration? I searched on this too and it doesn't appear to be a thing. Rather it's all about Komplete Kontrol, as middleware.

Yet, I see all the NKS partners ( https://www.native-instruments.com/en/s ... -partners/ ) and I think, what am I missing here? What's the incentive to partner with NI for NKS?

I think we've done a good job mapping important parameters to the 8 encoders. This does make a difference for a lot of people. You'll get that for Diva and Repro. Integration for ZHZ is expected in a few weeks.

People I know who use NKS a lot like it for its convenience. That is, same browser and macro UI for a lot of their instruments and effects. What it lacks though is a way to aggregate presets, say, by project. This is something where using our built-in browser has advantages.

Furthermore I think we're still the only company offering plug-ins which allow for batch export of presets to NKS with automatic setup of tags and controllers.

The keyboards are solid. Even without NKS I prefer them over other controllers we accumulated over the years (after they brought back the wheels, that is). If only because they display the currently assigned MIDI CC above the knobs.

Thank you Urs!

What is the best way/method/place to make sure my U-he plugins are the most current versions ?

At the moment... the latest downloads from our website are the newest official versions.

It might be tedious to look that up when you have many licenses from us. We know. Thus we're working on some kind of "check for updates" system, but we don't have that yet. There's still a couple of other things we find more important right now, e.g. updates to Uhbik, Bazille and The Dark Zebra.

That's pretty much what I like it for, and as you say, the keyboards are pretty solid.

They seem to be very nicely built, even the cheaper A and M series. Best built controller for such a price that I ever used.

So from reading here and trying to interpret the NI site it really comes down to workflow and if you want to browse/search factory presets from the S Series or NKS browsers ?

Does RePro, and Diva (ZHZ soon) still respond to the NI encoders without all the NKS/KK shit ?
