Makes sense. Thanks for writing.agharta wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 5:53 pmThe rack is just a host so I can't see that it eats much CPU.peakles wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 5:39 pmAbout the rack, I can imagine it eats a lot of CPU, right? And the use of the little ones are specially for a less CPU usage or they sound different from their big brothers? Thanks again.
I assumed that the Little versions are generally cut-down so have less features and they do cost less.
As for whether they use less CPU, I imagine they are a subset of the full version so in many cases they may use a similar load. If you crank up the full version with the extra features then in those cases it might well use more CPU.

I'm quite sure the academic was $99 at some pointpeakles wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 5:19 pmSorry, I couldn't get it. $99 was the effect rack on Black Friday and $149 for the full bundle (both with academic discount), is it?Vleker wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 5:13 pm No academic sale, that's interesting. It was $99 on Black Friday. Regular was $149 so if you have patience you could wait for that to happen again.

Thanks! It’s now fixed. It’s just the preset pack:bob swans wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 1:38 pm Uncle E
I think I noticed a pricing mistake on your blowout page https://blowout.jrrshop.com/synth-anatomy-red-diva
Edit: is this just the preset pack or the synth and preset pack bundle?

It’s $29 for 120 patches, so $.24 per patch.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 1:43 pm Unless it's bundled with Diva itself $1.34 per patch seems a tad pricey

FWIW, Pulsar Audio is now being distributed by a different company. This is the new distributor’s rule. On a positive, the new distributor is responsible for the low prices of the current sale and Pulsar Audio never discounted this much when they were distributing themselves. Even without the extra discounts, I think these are the lowest prices ever for Mu and Echorec.sqigls wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 3:18 pm ok, sorry Pulsar.
was just about to buy both of them.
no sale, that's lame

that pretty much came to an even $100 for me here in Australia.
an extra $20 and the fact the price went up while it was in my shopping cart.
that's very frustrating for someone with next to no funds.
pisses me off enough to not buy either of them.

Probably not. You’re not getting Little AlterBoy but I think that goes on sale for $29 fairly often. OTOH, the bundle might be better for upgrading later on.peakles wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 4:46 pm I'm thinking about buying a soundtoys bundle. Does it worth to spend $100 more for the "little ones"?

Yes, agreed on all points. The gap between UAD and native plugins was very wide 10 years ago, now I routinely choose native plugins over UAD. They sometimes still release exceptional stuff, maybe 1 out of 5 these days.dzilizzi wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 5:25 pm UAD would normally fall under the luxury goods area - you pay more for better quality. But their plugins may be Giffen goods. Though I'm thinking they are still well made. Just over-priced for the market. And their value is affected by companies like Waves, who used to have similar prices but realize that their 15+ year old plugins have long since paid for themselves.
Apple used to be luxury goods, but they are becoming more of a Giffen good. At least going by my husband's iPhones compared to my Samsungs.
Apple is so weird. The iMac, 13” MacBook Pro, and iPhone SE are great values, everything else is drastically, drastically overpriced.
