My Bitdefender found a virus in Genesis Pro.

Works ok over here, though I haven't spent much time with it yet. At first glance, many of the patches don't seem to be velocity sensitive right from the start.

Fail, fail, fail. I haven't even gotten my $1 worth but got a nasty surprise last night with exactly what SOLA mentioned: NEWSMODULE.SEM is a trojan, folks. I have Webroot anti-virus and that also flagged it. I had high hopes for this when seeing all the videos and was one of the first to buy it. Never mind I haven't heard back from a support ticket I opened months ago when I couldn't use it with Ableton. I feel violated.

That's disappointing to hear. I hope they explain just how that got in there.
It's particularly bad because of the whole giving back to the community aspect of the marketing.

There seems to have been an update in windows/antivirus database and for some reason it's flagging our news module as a trojan. The purpose of this module is to update the user with news. It is the message displayed when clicked on the message icon. This is a false positive and we have removed this module in the next update.

Speaking of which this update will go live today or latest tomorrow. We have fixed almost all the issues that we had from release. You can find a copy of the patch notes below:

GENESIS BUG FIXES
• Fixed the issue where it was needed to run the DAW as administrator / Fixed “Connection lost to this plugin” issue
• Fixed custom skins not loading properly when restarting Genesis.
• Fixed custom knobs not loading with correct values when restarting Genesis.
• Fixed first note not playing when running transport in DAW.
• Fixed the ROM oscillator not properly loading presets – sounds are changing after reloading a project.
• Fixed the live dashboard analytics and it now shows correct values
• Fixed Init preset as it’s now set properly.
• Fixed XP counter as it would reset at random times
• Removed unnecessary dropdown menus

GENERAL UPDATES
The following problems related to downloading are fixed as we have upgraded our servers:
• Users with slow/bad internet connection could not successfully complete the download
• Download does not start
• Download gives errors

The following problems related to the Installer are now fixed:
• Setup is corrupt
• No .dlls installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VSTplugins
• The user can now select the directory they want to install the .dlls in
• Incomplete installation of system folders resulting in various types of errors

The following problems related to Serial Keys are now fixed:
• Serial key authentication failure during install
• Serial key authentication failures in DAW after install

WEBSITE UPDATES
• Added the OzSoft forum providing more customer support
• Added additional payment methods (Apple Pay, Credit Card)



FUTURE DEVELOPMENT GENESIS PRO
• The Genesis Pro Manual will be added within 7 days on the website + forum.
• A 64-bit Jbridged version is being tested and is our top priority. We hope to have a stable version ready in our next update.
• A Mac version is being worked on. It is in its very early stages and we hope to provide more news on that in our next update.
• Continued support for The Genesis (optimizations, bug fixes and soundbanks).

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OZSOFT PLUGINS
Our goal is to provide everyone the tools needed to produce music for very little expense. This will be more clear with our future plugins that will be in the same price range as The Genesis Pro and on par with expensive plugins in terms of quality, stability and supported systems (it will support all platforms unlike the Genesis Pro, which is an exceptional case).

But the problem is that there's no uninstaller and i have no way of knowing where other installation files are other than the original install folder inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VSTPlugins
In that folder, i don't even see the original .dll

Finally reinstalled it with the new update, working quite well in 32bit Ableton Live. Also this is on Windows 7, I have Windows 10 and OSX systems, but I still enjoy Windows 7 so much I will use it til it becomes completely obsolete (and will probably still use it offline). Seems to be much more stable now, with less glitches and pops. Need to spend some time working up own presets, and see how that goes. Not there yet, but a marked improvement from where it was.

We are not collecting any data nor mining. It's a false positive.

We did remove this flagged module from the synth, but forgot to remove the newsmodule.sem file in the installation folders. So this triggered Kaspersky/Defender seeing that file name again, while other AV didn't see it as a threat coz it's not doing anything.

We are fixing this asap and a new patch will be live today

Ummet,

this synth is incredibly demanding on CPU even on lowest settings, and even more then heavy synths like Repro, VPS Avenger.

Will there be performance optimisations in future update?

Also is ability to resize the plugin on the roadmap?
