But I think the main problem in Catalina (and where most of the noise created was concentrated) is connected with the mandatory "notarization" of the installers, which created a true nightmare among developers (judging from the threads I read, even here on KVR).

That's another example of those arbitrary moves decided by Apple, whose advantages are yet to be proven, yet creates a big burden on developers and users in general.
I'm still on 10.15.2 so i don't know how forced notarisation works, but i can open non-notarised stuff with holding "option".
iirc, the issues are mostly with previously notarised apps, non-notarised apps are less of an issues (Which is ironic, if i'm right. i'm probably wrong)

Perspective people...
Oh i absolutely agree re: catalina.
It's the windows part that i chuckled, because, to be honest, i haven't seen many actual reports about people having significant issues with windows 10 either. Frankly, Catalina (wrongfully) occupied most of the DAW "issues" news.

They seem to have allowed a "transtion period", after many people raised their voices. But that "transtioning period" is ending (if it didn't end already): https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/12 ... n-february

Anyway, as I said I don't have plans regarding Catalina, so I will not experience these problems for a very long time. Funny thing is: I am not missing A SINGLE THING. So far, anything that runs in Catalina also runs in Mojave, so, I certainly can live without catalina. And I hope developers will be smart enough to keep supporting Mojave for several years. This should be enough for me. Each year I have less and less reasons to keep macOS. And I'm not alone.

It's funny mentioning a sense of balance to criticize a company that lost it A LONG TIME AGO. And don't care who it hurts.
This is all incredibly subjective and without insight into the strategic decisions of any OS manufacturers.

Really not sure that I would consider either MS or Apple as good examples of a company that makes decisions based on a wide sampling of their user base.

Just a heads-up... I've run into two plugins that won't work after recent plugin scans in Final Cut Pro, Logic and Adobe Premiere: Klanghelm VUMT Deluxe and Noisemakers Tape One (delay plugin).

I even went to each of their sites and downloaded the latest and greatest, but no luck. Klanghelm did announce in a dedicated thread that the standalone version was signed and working in Catalina, so I'm surprised the plugins are not coming up as signed.

I'll reach out to Noisemakers... Tape One is one of my favorites for making tiny/precise adjustments for a delay effect. You can get a similar sound using Kontakt's built-in delay with the same ease, but you just can't use Kontakt as an effect. I'm hoping they're still developing!

Neither one breaks anything for me right now so I'm good, but thought others should know just in case.

Longest goodbye ever.
