But I think the main problem in Catalina (and where most of the noise created was concentrated) is connected with the mandatory "notarization" of the installers, which created a true nightmare among developers (judging from the threads I read, even here on KVR).
That's another example of those arbitrary moves decided by Apple, whose advantages are yet to be proven, yet creates a big burden on developers and users in general.
iirc, the issues are mostly with previously notarised apps, non-notarised apps are less of an issues (Which is ironic, if i'm right. i'm probably wrong)
