I'd like to copy a row of cross-sticks to a new cross-stick instrument I've added. It behaves strangely:
First I select the original cross-stick row and click on the copy icon
Then I select the new cross-stick instrument row (you can see by the velocities which are different) and click on the paste icon
Strangely enough, the original cross-sticks are not copied to the currently selected row and are instead bizarrely pasted on the some row, with an offset.
Why is it not copied onto the new row ? Why is it copied instead on the same but with an offset ? How is it possible to see the edit cursor point for copy/pasting (if there's one) ? How is it possible to select individual notes for copying ?

When you paste, the first of the copied notes (no matter where it is in the bar) will be placed where your play cursor is. See your pic, your first note on beat 2 has been copied to directly under the cursor.
Re copying to other tracks. I don't think this can be done. You can select all the notes in the track then drag them down but this moves, not copies. You could always save the first track then load it then change its drumtype, but probably quicker just to manually enter the new notes.

There's no selection really, so copy & paste copies the notes to the same drum type. It is expected to be used to copy something from one loop to another. In your case just move it first. The offset it the locator position.
Anyways I suppose there could be copy & paste track, but I'm so busy and this is soooo rare...

Thanks for bringing the attention on that little cursor. I found a way to do it which is rather quick, especially if the velocities and other parameters are varied. So no need to re-enter those. This will not work all the time because pasting over existing notes will not allow the pasted notes to be dragged over. They need to be pasted on empty positions.
1) Select the notes and copy them
2) Click anywhere to remove the selection
3) Put the cursor in such a position that it enables seeing the copied notes and paste them
4) Move the pasted notes onto the other track

What Vojtech has described can be used to 'copy from one note to another' which was a recent question.
The missing part was selecting the notes first. Then copy/paste works well ... if the same number of bars are present in the receiving loop, so add needed loops when needed before pasting.
The subject line was changed to [SOLVED partly] because this will work only if there are empty spaces to receive the pasted notes.

Empty positions...that's clever, good one.
But... you still can't move the copied notes as a block unless you first select each (alternate) one , so you might as well just duplicate each of the original notes by just dragging it (in pencil mode).
