robotmonkey wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 1:46 pm The Tone2+iLok computer shutdown problem from couple of year back was pretty bad, imho.
Time for you to talk less and test more?
There's nothing to test. Like I said in the other thread, this was in 2015 or 2016 if I remember correctly. The issue was acknowledged by Tone2 as their fault and it was eventually fixed.

But in general there should literally be on interaction between Tone2 plugins and iLok driver to an effect of computer shutdown. But that such thing even happened, was bad and was certainly telling about Tone2. They are the only company to ever pull of such thing.
What you write here isn't true.
iLok did also crash certain Skype versions, plugin from Waves , the beta of Dune2 from Synapse Audio, floppy disc drivers as well as Mozilla Firefox. The crashes usually appeared when you did open the ilok protected plugin at the same time as the other software.

Your 'issue' is a non-issue, since it did affect only a hand full of customers and was solved nearly a decade ago

Congrats for this thread Markus.

You can't even imagine how much I love your products. When I discovered Gladiator I found it mindblowing, and couldn't wait for Electra X. Your work is greatly appreciated here. Big big love !! :tu: :tu: :tu:

And no love at all to robotmonkey. :ud:

IMO, this should be an option then (find button on the install location dialog) not the default behaviour. Software that is too intrusive, especially when it’s primarily a lib with support files, is a big no to me.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

You do not have to worry about this. Our installers are not intrusive and never have been. Unlike other protection schemes we do not install drivers or other processes that run in the background. We do not make any changes to the operating system and we do not change any files that are not our own property.

Hallo Markus,

habe fast alle deine Synths gekauft und tone2 ist immer die 1. Wahl in meinem Plugin-Ordner.

Whoa hold on, this was a good thread for you but don't spoil it by deflecting blame against other companies. Tracking cookies are not evil. I can help you get set up with a Facebook pixel and a proven remarketing strategy that will multiply the rate of growth for your business. Your customers can use Firefox or Brave if they don't want to consent to such cookies. Google and Facebook has their information already anyway.
he did it in the other thread too.

Markus is here to calm down the situation and only one person keeps on throwing small rocks at him in the background.

But yes, I assume he can be forgiven too.

People were saying they should use the same copy protection as U-He... that's what he was responding to...

Claude as cute as it is to try to drum up business here there are a ton of people who do, in fact, think tracking cookies are evil.

I worry about everything that I install on my systems, especially when told I don’t need to.

Markus, I commend you for this thread, and the attempt at a fresh start. I was a Tone2 fan and even helped with a couple of manuals years, and years, ago. I stopped using the software, not because of rumours or posts, because the installer was doing things I thought excessive. I’ve said, and done, the same with the Melda Production one.

I will try the new versions but if they rummage, they will be binned.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.
