Ha Ha Ha I got the name from watching a Japanese documentary while signing up here back then i didn't think too hard on a user name or that i would frequent here so i didn't care on another note i think you robotmonkey make a lot of sense from the customer side of the argument i don't think a company should expect it's customers to fight its battles for them if they are so concerned about Kids stealing their products sue the parents for loss of revenue or get insurance like car and home owners do.

You must think I was joking when I said that you were the one who's whining (you seem very obtuse, so I can see how that could happen).

This is a thread started buy a guy (another capable dev who makes good synths), who realized that his business approach was wrong.

I made a remark that another dev could do the same. In case you missed it, the world literally kinda stopped a bit for a couple of months, and that's the kind of situation where good people reach deep down and come to some good conclusions. I pray that you reach the level of spiritual and intellectual development where you're able to grasp something like that.

Yes, the way they handle things now are great, but i'd also have been pissed off if i had to deal with their old protection scheme. But i simply just wouldn't support such things like i don't support ilok.

On the other hand it's also understandable if some people felt so „betrayed“ by such things, that they will never feel too positive about some companies.
Native Instruments were once my heroes, but they've too consistently disappointed me with the change in their development priorites starting in the second half of the noughties that they'd really have a hard time getting me back on their boat, even if most of „my issues“ were straightened.
This doesn't mean that they're a bad company that noone should be happily buy from (heck, even i was pretty close to buy Dirt from them, if it had at least a scalable or resizable GUI), it's just that i'm not feeling euphoristic about them anymore.
This doesn't justify self proclaimed hatred crusades against companies or people though, unless they killed your mother or something. Just don't support them with your wallet and when asked, say you don't like (to support) them for reason x, y, or z. Just like someone else could say that they are the very bestest of them all about the same company, because he has had different experiences with them.

IMO Tone2 didn't even have to apologize in this form though, since they seemingly already did this long time ago with their actions when they changed to more consumer friendly ways.

Can you define what files you consider your "own property"? If data is sitting on a system software has no business searching for, reading, modifying, or transmitting anything not directly related to its necessary operation.
