Are you me?
Are you drunk right now, if yes, yeah, i'm you :borg: :hihi: 8) :ud:
A little bit, I'm also going back and forth between Ableton and Studio One :hihi:

Joking aside (even if I'm not joking), the DAW issue is seriously my top "challenge". Serious case of analysis paralysis. And yes, I have tried Reaper and Bitwig.
Metal in my heart
Synths in my sound card

True story, last night I opened Budweiser Budvar and I taught to myself, man I love Bitwig, it's like I wasn't even using it, started really great track and had a blast, so easy, fun and straightforward, continued drinking whole day today, #artistlife and all that hahahaa

Looking forward to hearing your input!
Trying to keep the blood spatter off the microphones. I've tried wrapping them in plastic but the results sound phasey. Pop shields work but they're currently in the wash. I'd rather not pause my activities to wait for clean pop shields. It's not so much for the sound but bloody pop shields sometimes put off the talent. I like to have them gradually work towards the ultimate take. It's old-fashioned but I want to capture a great performance rather than paste a composite together.

I've got some hooks in the ceiling that I've tried suspending the microphones from but the blood just gets everywhere.

1. Finding an efficient learning path.
2. Stop spending time on checking out gear and plugins.

Oh no, that would be three :drunk:

Looking back at it, when you get things rolling, I would say it was producing a decent mix. After spending some time getting a hang of a DAW, choosing the different plugins and software you want to work with and getting a workflow down, the first real challenge is to make the final product sound good. Some artist/producers outsource this to engineers, but if you want to be a one-man team, it's a thing you have to tackle.
Take care

It's good practice to get a rough mix and then go play it on as many devices as you can - headphones, mobile, in a car, home multimedia speakers (with and without subwoofer), and try to play from speakers in different types of rooms. You don't have to do them all, but the more you can do the more you can figure out if there are problems with your mix.

1. Not having continuous time to learn so I don't go "if I start over anyway maybe I should switch DAWs". (I'm talking about jobs killing available time for months or years at a time to keep me in a very "how do I draw in piano roll again?" State (it's B, in Live...) (it is connected with amassing vsts because "then I have the same tools available no matter what DAW I learn, im smart doing that")

2. Not Knowing a DAW so well that I can focus on learning more about connecting Individual ideas into one interesting complete track, leaving me lacking and sticking to repetitive loops playing I somehow still enjoy

For myself, the largest challenge I have is mastering. There are so many different techniques and strategies and my ears can't really pick up on subtle changes in the sound yet.

The second challenge I have is exploring the sound capabilities I already have instead of buying or getting new instruments. I still have trouble playing around with synths and other instruments to find sounds I can use now or in the future.

Oh, this turned out to be serious thread. :)
