I don't think it's coming any time soon, really.
The only thing I smell in the air is breakfast, and thankfully groundhog is no part of it!

Must we re-start this thread every other week? I realise the forum is a bit quiet these days, but enjoy the silence and go make some music with T1. The whole groundhog thing is just no longer funny.

what's going on ?
A month ago you were Mr. Wait-and-see-and-stop-all-the-hype-right-now, but now you're leading the charge
(just as interested, but not obsessing)

I think it's Acid 5 you can smell
and who would have thought it?
Or is it Fruity 5 you can smell?
One thing's for sure - this forum has virtually ground to a halt these days. No longer get the sense that new people are signing up to the Tracktion community. The buzz has definitely gone.
But when T2 finally emerges I'm hoping that will all return, possibly bringing Jules back, too!

PS.
I'm sorry to admit this, but I'm almost gone from this forum myself... I'm doing almost everything in Live 4 now.
I remember a thread a few months ago where we all debated whether we would leave Tracktion for Live, and I was one of the people who said "no way" at the time. Now I'm mixing with most of those same people - but over on the Ableton forum...
That program really has changed everything. The arrange page is quite similar to Tracktion in terms of workflow and ease of use (automation very similar, too), but it has so much other stuff as well. And given the power of my system, I'm not actually missing freeze as much as I thought I would. Live also works better as a Rewire host for Reason - Tracktion kept dropping the first beat of the first bar for no reason, which was a right pain.
But I shall be watching what happens with T2, and who knows, perhaps I will be enticed back!

Tracktion has its good points, no doubt, but so many other hosts have "borrowed" the good bits that it's not the only game in town, workflow-wise. And some fiddly bits, while not showstoppers, result in the Death of a Thousand Cuts.
I hate to admit I'm doing 90% of my work in Orion Platinum and just bringing the mixed-down stereo files into Tracktion for finalization.

Well... here's the thing--
Without a lot of updates, there aren't a lot of bugs or a lot of features to goosh over, either. Hence, there's not all that much to yak about.
Since the Raw Materials forum exists alongside other forums (Effects, Instruments, Off Topic), we just find other areas of K-v-R in which to chat...!
I was thinking about this last night as I walked my dog... it was always cool how Jules was around a lot 'n' stuff. But chances are good that he's simply had a change of lifestyle and his habits are now different. After being away from us for a few weeks (various travel for meetings, etc.) it was probably a real boost for his sense of satisfaction to realize that he actually CAN have a life away from Tracktion, too.
I think that's great. I hope he's making some music somewhere and taking care of himself.
Greg
