Interesting. MODO bass is quite good, IMO, as opposed to amazing. I use it in productions unless the bass plays a more prominent role. But I think synthesis would work significantly better for drums. I have quite a few libraries, but MODO doesn't need to load samples, which is convenient. I mean, what good is BFD when just the prospect of filling a third of your memory with samples makes you think twice, even if for just a second?
PS I do have BFD samples stored in an SSD
PPS in the announcement it says that you can buy from a dealer, but I don't see the discount anywhere else, is it a matter of time? I hate this offer, guys... LOL
PPPS and I have 36 jam points... double damn!!

MODO drum is hybrid though as it's a 20GB download.monomox wrote: Fri May 08, 2020 7:36 pmInteresting. MODO bass is quite good, IMO, as opposed to amazing. I thoroughly tested MODO Drums and was disappointed - cymbals being the biggest issue, ride was terrible! toms werent good at all either. Kicks and snare were strongest and the instant load and tweaking was great. Although I found tweaking not nearly as intuitive and gratifying as MODO Bass which is a monster tool for shaping Bass tone (then slap your favourite third party amp).monomox wrote: Fri May 08, 2020 7:36 pmInteresting. There was a nice enough variety of kits to play but at the same time they were actually limited (dont bother doing metal) just not competitive compared to great drum libraries out there.
But YMMV, so do check your Youtube reviews to see if it'll do what you want, just heads up was that I was psyched for it and then after I played with it I instantly knew it wasn't going to cut it for me.

Btw for those who dont like MODO Bass, Toontrack are about to release EZBass on May 19th, priced at $179 its not cheap but its looking to be an excellent choice, some very good features and ease of use in there - drag and drop proper played bass parts, can detect basslines from other existing songs/parts and write them to midi, lots of other goodies to separate DI from their amp for controlled outputs, that kind of stuff. Its all well considered.

Yes, exactly. But its actually much better in EZBass because the midi note editing in it is far superior to EZKeys, and there are many improved features. Just a very tempting purchase making it hard for me to buy any bargains this month..leo007 wrote: Sat May 09, 2020 5:05 amvery similar concept to EZKeys!Insanelysane wrote: Fri May 08, 2020 8:36 pm Btw for those who dont like MODO Bass, Toontrack are about to release EZBass on May 19th, priced at $179 its not cheap but its looking to be an excellent choice, some very good features and ease of use in there - drag and drop proper played bass parts, can detect basslines from other existing songs/parts and write them to midi, lots of other goodies to separate DI from their amp for controlled outputs, that kind of stuff. for me, the advantage of MODO Bass is that you can experiment with different tones quickly and easily. You can switch from one tone to the other fast, within the same plugin, keep the articulations, etc. Go from finger style to slap to pick, from active to passive, etc etc. Also, my libraries are not as diverse as the tones in MB. I don't think it sounds realistic enough in certain circumstances, but part of that is my lack of skill. It's definitely my first choice, but depending on where the song goes, I may switch to samples. Just saying, to each its own.
